Malcolm Smith should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2nd & 3rd July

Stan Bernard (Porsche 911) led practice on 2nd July, followed closely by Willie Robertson (Datsun 240Z).
A further twenty-two drivers enjoyed dry, sunny conditions, which have been a feature of Knockhill
events this year.

Race one winner was John Marshall (Ford Escort), heading Bernard by four seconds, with Robertson
less than a second further behind.
Marshall and Bernard repeated their positions in race two, followed by Shonny Paterson (Triumph TR8)
closing rapidly in third place.

Highly competitive driving was evident throughout both races – several cars were less than a second
apart at the finish.

Eight rounds into this year’s Championship, a total of thirty-seven drivers have competed,
emphasising the strength of support which has developed in recent years.

The next event is at Knockhill on 31st July, which has the added attraction of a thirty lap
non-championship race.
