550s from at least 3 different sources raced in FIA GT races- the original cars built by Italtecnica, the successful Prodrive cars, and the German Wieth car. The Rafanelli car that appeared in the ALMS was one of the Italtechnica cars, so there's no reason why different versions of the same car can't be allowed from different builders.
