I remain curious why WA Tourism dont get active to ensure the AFL fixture in Perth complements the V8's & promote the weekend to sports fans that travel.

There are plenty of fans of both sports & there are plenty of different time slots in AFL fixturing.

Tricky to have a wall though the infield (on driver's right, where the crash occurred) as there is an alternate circuit layout there and in any case, the large runoff is still less damaging to "hit" than a wall is.

I honestly don't think there'd be much to change for the circuit (although no doubt the circuit & MSA will look at the shunt & for any lessons) but there isn't much a circuit can do about a driver's red mist descending.

Still a bit of a p*sstake by Supercars, to only have two 55 lap races on a weekend.

One would have thought two races on Sunday?

I agree, but sadly, the two race weekends are a thing of the past.

On a positive note, both races on the weekend were enjoyable.

The West Coast Eagles played Melbourne Demons on the Sunday, same time as the sunday race but I understand your reasoning for sure

I am not sure it's Mr Murray's first unintended accident either..

What has me interested is if V8Supercar uses the incident to show a government that a street race will somehow be safer... if somehow less spectacular... to promote investment in the Fremantle Grand Prix
