[iV8SC11-R27&R28] Sydney Telstra 500 - 2-4 December
Its here. Finally.
The last race of the 2011 V8Supercar Championship Series. Two drivers in contention for the series win. Teammates. Plenty to play for in the other places in the championship. Third place could be up to 6 pilots' holy grail for the taking. Pride. So who's going to win? Given that 888 have not placed well here in the last 2 years, will this continue in 2011? Will Mr Bright return from Coventry, oops I mean injury, and give BOC a gee up in front of the sponsor's home crowd? Will FPR keep up their run of speed lately, and put Frosty and Wilbur at the top of the tree? Or will PD win the last V8Supercar race he ever runs on his own? Will SBR figure out how to get all 3 cars percolating at the time? Will GRM give Mr Holdsworth a last hurrah? Too many questions, not enough racing... My pick... #888 might win.. the races.. while #88 might win.. the title... We shall see |

Depends what screenplay Cochrane and his team of scriptwriters have come up with. My pick is the big dramatic finish like last year, with Lowndes qualifying poorly, doing a Sandown Saturday drive, and finishing in front of Jamie and getting the minimal number of points to win the championship.

Any word on ticket sales as the event enters its 3rd year and the first under a new government?

And the winner is.... SYDNEY!
Or Jamie. Or both. Not Craig. |

Would love to see Leethal go out with a bang. Robbo is traditionally a strong performer in Sydney as well.

Interesting to read in MeN that LDM were apparently looking to make a driver switch this weekend. The story suggests that potential 2012 pilot Mr Douglas was to pitch Mr Luff from his final weekend with the team. The article doesnt explain the reason for staying with Mr Luff...

Apparently there is going to be a rather large drag car display covering 3 streets at the Sydney V8 round.
Whilst i am a big drag racing fan, i am surprised that the V8 organisers are promoting one of there competitors ? |
