Homebush back on the agenda... again...
Article Here
It made it to P3 of today's Daily Telegraph, and in the editorial.. both asking, with the nudging of Mr Kershler, as to why Townsville was able to pull this kind of thing off, but not Sydney. On Sydney radio with Alan "Gloria" Jones, Mr George Souros lambasted the government's decision to not proceed, highlighting the economic benefit to the state and the local area that will now not be arriving. This is supposed to be being re-looked at for 2008... although I suspect 2009 is a more likely timing |

If the NSW government has Homebush on the agenda for any sort of motor race it is for the F1 Grand Prix not for a touring car race.

This is the newspaper that is calling for Morris Iemma and the rest of an ailing government to fix NSW's problems. A V8 Supercar round at Homebush is not a problem, as much as I would like to see it. I'd rather have trains that run on time, and more hospital beds than a V8 Supercar round. The Telegraph has once again shown its double standards.
Interesting that a National Party type got a run on Alan Jones' program. One has to ask whether Jones' animosity towards the NSW Coalition is fading, after all these years. If anyone can get a V8 Supercar round at Homebush, it's Alan Jones. |

The townsville (appalling) decision has now just given the evil empire more confidence in getting other appalling ideas in the championship.
Lets hope Sydney and WA can stay firm against these movements |

Has anyone actually made a proposal to the Federal Government to build 'Oran Park 2007 style'?

Would be a good time to do it now, why they are handing our money out hand over foot. And Little Johnny seems to be the black wiggle best mate now. |

well maybe like Singapore if the government did do Homebush maybe it is for the F1 and V8's as they might not want to just hold 1 event there, maybe F1 and non c'ship V8's in March and V8's grand finale.

Just herd on the 2pm news on the radio that the Black wiggle is still in talks with the NSW Gov about the season ending race at Homebush for 2009

The Telegraph will lambast the government for not getting the race, but would complain about the cost if it did get it. Sydney, as a city, doesn't need these events to get national attention - it gets enough as it does (just ask anyone from Melbourne). Townsville needs an event for people to look in their direction

and heres one for the knockers
V8SA are prepared to take the financial risk by promoting the event themselves, One less argument. Now we just have to get rid of the i would rather they spent the ten million on hospitals and schools, the billions that are already spent on them are not enough |

V8SA have said they are prepared to be the manager/promoter of the event, so if the people dont turn up or they are unable to get the sponsorship and the event makes a loss (as in canberra) then V8SA would carry the can on it.
they will have the responsibility of putting the track together and getting the infrastructure together for it |
