What'd be the ideal car you'd most love to own, if money was no limitation ?
If money wasn't a limitation and someone else was paying, what'd be your ideal minimum V8 model of Jap, Aus, or Euro modified (non-Formula 1) car that you'd most love to own (describing the desired engine specs, body, paintwork, interior, etc.), for practical normal everyday driving, for non-professional racing, or for both.

A McLaren F1 road car would do nicely. Extreme performance, and still room for passengers.

Try and convert the Penske Porsche into a road car and leave it in qualifying spec.
The engine used was a 12 cylinder air-cooled opposed piston turbo unit. It has a top speed of 385kph (240mph) and can accelerate from 0-200kph (125mph) an 5.3 seconds. Thats my ideal everyday roadcar if i had the money. |

Blimey. Minimum V8... Not sure where to start really.
You listed Jap, Aus or Euro, but I'm going to cheat blatantly... A Corvette C5R, in full 2004 GM Le Mans trim, 5.7 V8 (or was it bored to 6.0 in the C5R?), I guess running 600+ bhp, top speed around 300kph. Preferably not the one that got bounced down the Armco on Mulsanne... And my dream road car - a Lamborghini Murcielago in orange. And a silver Porsche Carrera GT. And a fully Mulliner'd Bentley Arnage T in smoke silver with the very best available natural (i.e. treated not dyed) buffalo hide upholstery and complementary dark wood trim... perfectly "adequate" power and torque... and it would be far too common to discuss performance... And that Penske Porsche sounds like fun... |

Of course, everyone in the sportscar forum knows that I'd love to have a BMW M3............ (and I would too.....!).
But a McLaren F1 would do. Even better would be the Toyota GTOne road car....... |

Yes, what is with the "no less than 8" stipulation?
Rules out the E-Type, any straight-six Aston, all vintage Bentleys, all of which are on my ultimate drive list. Ah well, if an eight it has to be, then put me down for a mid-eighties Aston Martin V8 Vantage. I could live with one of those. |

I want a 2001 Audi S4 with the European spec RS4 engine in it. Of course I can't have that since it's a V6. Hmm... Don't really want a new S4. Maybe I'll settle for a current DTM spec A4, only one with two front and a back seat. And some form of trunk space.
Nah, give me that twin-turbo V6 any day. |

The Superformance Coupe. A recreation of the Cobra coupe designed by much of the same team who did the original but using today's technology etc.

My sentiments exactly kingfloopy!!
Just when I thought the list wasn't going to have an RS200E on it........... I Wouldn't mind Martin Schance's ex-rallycross example, made road legal obviously!! |

Ok, I changed my mind. I want a new Aston Martin AMV8. That's a sweet machine. Meets the V8 requirement too.

Or a 250 GTO. |

I missed the V8 requirement the first time around. I still stick by the Ford RS200 as my ultimate car, but it I had to stick to the V8 requirement I'd have to say my car of choice would be a Hemi Plymouth Superbird.
