2011 Macau F3 GP
Since the macau gp is only 2 and a bit months away,i was wondering what the grid would be like for it as there was a good grid last year.

I think you mean 2011.
But never mind, I hope there will be more cars than at the Zandvoort Masters, that was just a joke. |

Perhaps some kind Mod will change the title of the thread.
I think the entry will be better than it was for Zandvoort Masters. There will be more from British F3 for a start and the usual entries from Japan and the locals. However, don't expect to be as it used to be. These are difficult times and it's hard to justify the cost. The intended race afterwards in Korea has already been cancelled. |

According to Double R team boss Anthony Hieatt, Marko Asmer is planning to race at the Macau Grand Prix. He found a sponsor. I know how it sounds.

I heard that, too, and Marko was at Double R's factory during the week so I think it's correct.

From what I know Da Costa are going to join the race with Hitech Racing. Champion Bottas has made a one off late entrywith Prema last year after he lost rookie test place to Maldonado ,I won't be too surpised to see him there. Alex Sims has raced with Double R last two years without a season race with team, may be he will do the thrid trial. Rio Hayranto are possible too. |

Newly-crowned GP3 champion Valtteri Bottas will race in the British Formula 3 Championship round at Donington Park this weekend ahead of a possible return to Macau Grand Prix. The Finn will drive for Double R Racing. Bottas and Asmer as teammates? So what exactly are we looking for?

Yuhi Sekiguchi (2011 Japan F3 champion) says that he cannot participate in Macau GP with B-MAX team (champion team).
He says that he was not able to rent a chassis although he asked of 3 Japanese teams. And he doesn't have (sponsor) money paid to an competitive overseas team. He is not supported from Japanese manufacturer. |

(Complement)
Team B-max don't own F308 chassis. The owner of their season chassis is team Tom's. They use this chassis as T-car in Macau GP. So no chassis for Sekiguchi. |

It's uncool that Sekiguchi misses Macau.

At least five of Carlin's drivers are said to be Macau bound. Steve Robertson is unlikly to pay for Nasr to do Macau and Double R have Marko Asmer and Valtteri Bottas on board and as Mitch Evans who is Mark Webbers protege and drives for Webber and Horners MW Arden outfit was in the 3rd Double R car today I would put money on him being at Silverstone final F3 round next week and in Double R car at Macau.
Buller is said to have a Macau budget as well. It could be a very exciting Macau F3 GP with new sponsors offering deals and Barry Bland very excited for this years entry list. |

They say Bottas got a new sponsor for Macau GP. That's the thing. No one knows. And everyone's talking about it.
Alex Sims plans to drive for Sino Vision Racing. Those are just words. We need proof. |

I can guarantee you that if Valtteri wasn't going to Macau with Double R he wouldn't have been sat in car 26 at Donnington.
Mitch Evans was sat in car 26 yesterday with his newly crafted race seat, they woudln't do him a new seat if he wasn't doing Silverstone in two weekends time and if he wasn't going to Macau. I don't think people understand how Macau works with sponsorship, it's a bit of a quirky deal with Macau outfits also doing deals with teams for sponsorship if the team bring the right drivers It's not all about the drivers sponsors and budget. There is never a 100% water tight deal in F3 or motor racing, but Double R are showing 100% clear proof that they are running Asmer, Bottas and Evans at Macau, that could change, but I doubt it. Carlin were planning to run 4 cars in Macau but I understand that with 5 of their drivers planning to do Macau they are likely to run all 6 of their cars there. |
