Robbie kerr loses his seat at DBA!
Its a sad day for motorsport fans everywhere.
Britons Robbie Kerr has lost his drive for David Sears' Den Bla Avis team due to not being rich enough. Phil Giebler is the fortunate American who got the drive. I would like to say through sheer talent, but Im quite certain that the extra 30k in David Sears' back pocket will have gone a long way in destroying the British Formula Three Champion's chances of becoming the world class driver that he should be. |

You mean the drive Kerr never had? The drive he had as a one off because Giebler was the first choice and couldnt get the license in time?

Kerr without a drive, Paffet without a drive, just unbelievable. But Giebler is in, because of his drive, not because of money. But still a shame 2 F3 champions are without a (good) drive!

I just wish these talented brits would get a chance. They have no backing but have so much talent, it doesnt seem right to me, thats all.
Btw, where has these Giebler come from, and what series has he done? |

Giebler is une of the most talented drivers ever!!! if you dont think so whait and see, Kerr (wick I rate very high) qualified 18th, in the same conditions we will see how Giebler qualifies. That will say how tallented he is.
He has done Karting, Campus, French f3, Spanish F3 and some races at germany and England, plus the winterseries of Palmer Audi www.philgiebler.com |

Phil Giebler was the first choice of the DBA team for the drive, and would have been in the car at Imola if the license probalem had been solved. His record before this race shows him to be a driver of exceptiional talent, and an asset to any team.
This weekend will be his first ever run in a current F3000 car, he has previously had a total of 3 days in Euro F3000 spec cars, Robbie Kerr, who is also a good driver has had more experience in f3000 and F Nippon spec cars, also there was a major two day F3000 test at Barcelona a few weeks ago where all the serious runners in the series were able to tune their cars. |

Sorry to drag this on, but i think youll find Imola was the first and only time robbie had sat in an F3000 car. |

ur comparing someone who has won the f3 championship to win .... with phil giebler ... i dont understand the guy wins the championship and hes got no funds .. happened to hynes a few years ago but i think its ridiculous.
even performing does not get you a drive |

Therefore it stands to reason that a championship in one of the national F3 series does not automatically guarantee a seat in the international F3000 series. Just like a championship in F3000, Formula Nippon, CART etc. does not automatically guarantee a seat in F1 the next year. --------- On the other hand, winning a championship in F3 should be enough to give you a seat in a F3 championship the following season (if you are willing to take it). |

Phil did prety well to be 14th and less than 0.25 seconds of Kiesa in his first drive in a current spec f3000 car, lets what what the race brings.
