Watched the Bathurst 1000 yesterday !!
Appolgies if that's the wrong name !! Anyways Speedvision finally showed the race , and what a race !! Unfortunately it was only a one hour show . Bathurst looks like a very interesting track . lots of elevation changes on a mountain with changing weather . Very nice !
The race certainly brightened up a cold , snowy day in Calgary , Canada for me Now I find myself racing the Tickford Falcon in Gran Turismo 3 a lot !! Alan |

its always amazed me how Tv stations can jam 6 hours into a one hour highlight package ???
must have made great viewing thats for sure , people must really think all the V8's do is crash well at Bathurst they did didnt they Fast pony , Bathurst is the best track in Australia and arguablly the world and what makes it more exciting is that it is public road and you can drive around it at any hour of the day (except race day of course ) definately worth the 5 or 6 hour drive from my home just to do 5 or 6 laps. |

Pity you didn't get to see the full telelcast of last years race - it was an absolute ball tearer right to the very end. I think about the only weather condition they didn't drive through that day was a volcanic erruption and resulting lava flows.
It truly is an awesome track. Was up there a few weeks ago myself, it's only 2 hours away from where I live. The view from the top truly is breathtaking. I cannot beleive how fast these guy charge up and down this mountain. You could not pick a better track in the whole world for such an event. Last edited by Buckshot; 16 Jan 2002 at 19:37. |

Yeah Bucky, some boofhead parked their ugly looking Commodore in your lovely pic of Bathurst. They have editing software that can erase that sort of thing you know

Thankyou for the safety pointers guys but please, do not fear. The car was in fact stationary whilst that picture was taken.
If I had've been moving I would have run over my girlfriend with her digital camera ! |

Ok then, getting back on topic, I wonder if the hour of Speedvision highlights featured regulation Channel 10 ad breaks for Bathurst? So really you only saw 3 minutes of action, and that was simply Bill Woods introducing the race in the morning...
Out of interest, what time of the day was it on?? |
