Music to my ears.

As some of you probably know I have an interest in early GP racing and the classic bikes of yester year.
I was searching around You Tube and found these short clips. Listen to how beautiful some of these old bikes sound.

Honda 5 cylinder 125cc (1966)
The RC148 - is in principle two and a half 50 cc twins.
Drive to the camshafts is by gear train between the third and fourth cylinders. Power is 34 bhp at 20,000 rpm. eight speed box, and the engine has wetsump lubrication. The four exhausts of cylinders 1, 2, 4 and 5 sit in the normal place, left and right of the bike, the exhaust of cylinder 3 sweeps up and around the lefy hand side of the engine, crosses through the frame, to end up under the right leg of the rider. 85 kg.

Honda 6 cylinder 250cc (1967)
Being warmed up in the pits.
The RC166 - Power is 62 bhp at 17,000 rpm. Max speed 240kmh+. 7 speed transmission. 6 carburettors.
Winner of 10 out of 10 races in the 1966 World Championships series, the RC166 captured the Manufacturers' and Riders' Championships in the 250cc class for two consecutive years.
Isle of Man TT winner. Rider: No.7 Mike Hailwood

MV Agusta 4 cylinder 500cc (1970)
Agostini starting the bike in the pits.

Mike Hailwoods Honda 4 cylinder 500cc on a dyno run. (1966/67) *** This sounds awesome!

Manx Norton Daytona M40 single cylinder 350cc (1961)

Enjoy!

EGG has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
A little later but, RGV500 on a dyno:

The 350 single sounds familiar, too much time spent at historic meets. I can almost smell burnt racing fuel.

Gordon, back in 83 or 84 when I did some production bike racing with a two stroke Yammy 350, I remember one sat night camping in the field beside a track with all the other camping racers, and someone played a record or tape of various bike sounds. The memory really stuck with me, a warm summer night, tents, bikes on trailers and the dark track just over a bit, and all these scrumptious sounds going through the air and people just standing listening. A neat memory triggered by your LP comment. I think it was my first ever race weekend, did pretty crappily but the other racers were really nice, especially the vintage guys with their Nortons etc.
