Caterham Motorsport
Welcome to Caterham Motorsport
Now, this news raises a few questions: - What about Zytek Motorsport in the near future ? - What about the Alpine project which is supposed to be a partnership between Renault and... Caterham ? Interestingly, the following article was published today on caradisiac.com suggesting that the partnership between Renault and Caterham is taking time to come to life... Pure coincidence ? |

Trying to work out how exciting this news is. Hard to say. Seems like is nothing else it's a potential renaming and lick of paint for Zyteks.
Hopefully a bit of a cash boost for someone, but it does get a bit confusing with Alpine/Caterham. |

Lotus, Morgan, Caterham, Alpine...which LMP2 cars aren't re-branded by small sports car manufacturers again?

At least it's another not-black P2 for this year's LM24. We may have a chance of telling some of these things apart from one another.
As for the question of when is an Alpine not a Caterham, maybe one will end up in P1 and the other in P2, provided there is enough chassis commonality between the two classes in future. |

I know we'd all love to see distinct new chassis appearing, but everything's got to start somewhere. |

The new styling looks like it was designed to be a Morgan. And maybe it had. I've heard that Zytek-based Morgan-branded P1 had been consideren before they went with ONROAK and P2.

I'm not sure whether this does actually class as a rebadging? Sounds like they are just renaming one Le Mans entry (not chassis) which is a massively common thing to do. A paint scheme/driver and presumably some cash in exchange for an evaluation process. Sounds fair enough. I'm still not sure yet whether they'll produce 100% their own chassis or they'll work with Zytek now? Are they working with Greaves in this instance with a view to supplying them chassis in the future? And will Greaves effectively merge and run the team as Caterham next year? My ideal scenario would be to have Zytek and Caterham both produce a P2 chassis. |

I'm guessing that's the Le Mans aero package that Zytek already produced? As it looks much different than the Zytek used in ELMS and WEC this year. Don't think you can have 2 different Le Mans aero packages for one car. I also don't think it's especially made for Caterham, as it is not allowed as far as I know. So we should see the other Greaves car and Jota with the same aero package at Le Mans.

That car looks a bit different to the previous versions of the Zytek, that's a new aerodinamic configuration?

I agree, the front has changed. I also miss the front dive planes and the lights are different too:

The dive planes are probably there for extra down force and may not be used at LeMans, lights well I suspect the drivers like seeing where they are going at 200mph+.

I have to admit I thought that car in the pictures was merely 2014 a mock-up. Hadn't heard anything about a revised spec Zytek so would be interesting to get confirmation.

Surely if this rebadging exercise continues the way it did for Kodewa, it's great news!

nice that they've got a sponsor but it looks less distinctive than it used to with the low headlights, unfortunately.

Caterham-Alpine joint venture
Surely this will find its way onto a track at some point. GT4?
