DuHamel wins record fifth Daytona 200

Miguel DuHamel won his record 5th Daytona 200 by playing possum with Bostrom, Roberts, Mladin and Gobert. Gobert's Ducati failed just after his pitstop. Mladin lost the front end and went stright through a chicane losing a lot of time. Roberts lost the rear tire late in the race forcing him to slow. Bostrom miscalculated how fast DuHamel was and allowed him to pass in an effort to make the draft to the line move possible. DuHamel had other things in mind. He had saved his rear tire and when it came time to use it he broke the draft with Bostrom and rode away to the checkered flag. Not bad for a broken down, limping around the pits, over 40 rider.

Congrats to DuHamel and all the Canadian bike fans.

good on him! He's had some bad breaks (sic) in the last few years hasn't he.
(as an aside, the summer I did some prod. racing eons ago, his father (?) was still racing a Honda Interceptor 750 or 1000 at the "local" track I was at most often. Could've been his dad, as he was probably 45 at the time I'd say-seemed pretty old to a 20yr old)
