Royale RP19 Super Vee (found)

Hello everyone,

Little introduction:

My name is Peter Köhler
31 years old
living in Holland
tiny bit car crazy

about 10 years ago I bought a old formula car in the UK.
Not knowing what is was, I made the seller an offer and I bought an old formula car.

Now after al these years I finaly got some spare time, and taken a clooser look at the car.

thrue the Dutch Monoposto racing club I found out that it's a Royale RP 19 Super Vee.

Internet learned me that there where only 10 cars build, so it's quite a unique car.
6 went to the USA, 2 to Germany and 2 stayed in UK.

because I'm not sure what to do with it I'm looking for info about the car.

I'm missing a lot of parts, rear wishbone's ,uprights, brakes, drive shafts, engine en gearbox.

I'ts been converted to a water cooled VW engine.

So what should I do, try and find the missing parts and restore it as original as possible or rebuild / modify it to my own idee ??

for those who are interested, here are some pic's.

Peter,
Peter, welcome to the forum

I think that old racing cars should be restored to something as close to their original specification as possible. So for an RP19 that would be an air cooled engine if you wanted to be as authentic as possible, even though it's probable that some ran with the Scirroco engine after 1978.

Can you remember where/exactly when you got the car in the UK
As you say only two raced here, so it should not be too hard to trace the history

Royale was owned by Alan Cornock who now runs FCS Ltd near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire. He has just started reproducing parts for various Royales, I think. He would be worth contacting via this site:
