Cool, did they mention the tea tree oil plantations? Or the swamp land at Hope Island?
Maybe the bankruptcy saga again... gotta love the "Nuremberg" defence... "it wasnt me officer, he made me do it" |

Anyways... this team had a reasonable weekend considering not too many things seemed to go right.
The new engine from Mr Hasted seemed to be pronounced a dud (despite being incredibly successful in SER cars for a number of seasons.. in main series and Konica/HPDC) and flicked for the 'conventional' specification engine. But there seemed to be an issue in the engine swap, with throttle linkages not being put back together as the designer intended. Noise around the traps suggests that the broken throttle mechanism for the #48 car in qualifying was caused by preparation issues.... and that the mechanic identified as responsible for those preparation problems was shown the way to Tullamarine.. and off home... Now I praise the team in a way if there is a preparation issue that impacts the safety of the car, then the 'offender' if identified correctly, beyond a shadow of a doubt etc etc is invited to seek other opportunities. But it begs a further question or three. This is the 2nd round this has happened at in succession. Both to do with engine department... something this team has complained about for quite a while as being an area of concentrated development. So is the 'engine problem' this squad currently identifies as the reason they arent so competitive against other cars one of those mystery 'installation' issues, that sound engineering and good practice would eradicate from the variability of the results? What we might also be asking is the supervisory level in this team... to have a single worker make preparation errors could be identified as a one off... to have two of them.. might suggest that closer attention to detail by the bigger chiefs is required..... ... if anything like this could possibly happen of course.... |

Oh.. and well done to Mr Tagliani and Mr Marshall, who lapped their car (not sure who was at the wheel... ) quicker than the regular pairing in the "better" car....

Didn't Gore pronaounce that the WPS team would be "on it" or on the pace or something by the time they got to Sandown.
Cant wait till Bessy gets sent home early for being a safety issue, oh and I think Tag was the fastest driver they had all weekend |

... prior to this Mr Wilson was preparing the engines... But the issue here is that there seem to be preparation problems in the engine area, to do with throtle systems and oil lines and the like... are these powerplants really members of the POS family, or are they just not put in the cars correctly? I watched a team change an engine in double quick time at the weekend, the thing was put back with the care and precision of an operating theatre, and everything worked when the job was finished.... everything... the drivers got full throttle, the clutch and gearbox were connected and calibrated correctly.... ... this is significantly different to the scenario here.. where the Hasted engine was dumped and replaced with an older unit... and there were still issues There is a school of thought that Mr Gore would achieve better racing results if contracted a team like PCR to run the cars, to prepare them with the right people, the right focus... the 'Hollywood' stuff could still happen, but the cars would be racing instead of plodding.... |

The yellow version certainly seemed quite "dirty" in parc ferme... almost reminiscent of the 2004 WRC versions.... |

Does Ian Walburn have much say at what happens with the WPS cars. Is it lack of engineering talent or poor management controling the engineering talent

Guessing the result again GTR,
Mr Wilson has had nothing to do with our engines for over 14 months now and we have never Dynoed any engines at Gaven although we do possess a Dyno. As for the Teams results we created some of our own luck thru tough weather decisions which we got wrong but so did plenty of others. The only time either of our cars spun at all was a minor off by Tags in Sunday morning warm up. PCR are fine operaters and when eventually in the main wiil perform professionally, but thankyou for your unfounded concern as we are more than capable of running our team and we will win races and enjoy the success that hard work and comittment brings. Although you have displayed a good knowledge of motorsport in general on these pages you have demonstrated many times that you know few facts when it comes to WPS. Instead you have chosen to take the fish and chip wrapper mentality and bag the team at any oppitunity up till now without any valid reasoning other than you appear to be bitter about something. I am aware of one of your so called sources with regard to WPS and I find it qiute humorous that you still are not in possesion of the facts.... |

GTR,
As you will have noticed from my posts or comments I dont personally attack anyone or pass comment on anything that I dont possess the facts. Because you are a moderator I would have assumed that you would behave in a ethical manner which would include not discussing a posters personal details without their permission, fortunatley we both know that you are only guessing when it comes to me just as I could guess you surname to be Smith, Jones or Jeffery?? |
