does anyone know if Dahlgren has an F3 drive for next season? He won the F Ford title, yet Van der Merwe [sorry about the spelling] got the Carlin seat. i would have put Dahlgren in with VDM at Carlin.

Yes - brilliant news, fantastic. James will be F3 champ in 2002. This is great for us Australians. Just as it looks as if Mark Webber's F1 hopes are dashed forever, James moves up the ladder. Can't want to see an Aussie in F1.

i agree with jiggly. there r some well overhyped drivers coming out of f3. f3 is all about who's got most money or who's got a certain sponsership deal... (who's got the better engine seems 2 b playing a big role too)
there r some talented drivers out there who rn't getting a chance to show it.

Its all about who has 400k to go with Manor or Carlin - otherwise you struggle on 250k or whatever and sometimes run near the front... thats why I think Kerr will need to find a lot more than the 125k he got from scholarship class win

btw what is happening with paffet?

Jiggly......as much as you maybe right that some drivers are overhyped......i dont think adding Hayes to your good driver list will help you much....with the equipment he's had in his career , even back to formula ford he hasnt ever set the world on fire . Hes a good driver , but surly not one to shout too much about !

ok then you can take hayes out of that list and add priaulx then! but my point is that basically the drivers i named are as good as the ones that everyone shouts about! they just obviously aren't shouted about so don't get the attention they deserve!

Good for James
He's a damn good driver

Paffett might be doing DTM next year, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'd like a cold lemon squash to go with that humble pie thanks.

I'm willing to admit I was wrong. I said Courtney would not go to Carlin because of what took place last year. Looks like I was wrong.

The question that must now be asked is, now that the two BAR Honda drivers have moved on, will Carlin get the same treatment they got last year? Especially as they have a contracted Ford driver (who will probably test for Jag again next year) driving for them. Ah, the politics.

As for James being overhyped. Personally, I think there should be some hype over a guy who won the World Senior and World Junior Karting Championships in the same year, before going on to dominate Brit FF.

Just out of interest, how many years did Sato drive in F3?
