Two Downbeat Drivers
Both Irvine and JV sounded suprisingly quite downhearted after retiring from the Canadian GP.
JV had not much to say about the performance of the new car and engine, was not particularly complimentary to the team (but who could blame him) and sounds like a man at the end of his tether concerning the performance of the new car. There is only so much a driver can put up with. Irvine too was very downbeat when he was interviewed, which is surprising as he usually looks on the bright side. Perhaps he is realising that: a) he's nearing the end of his career so what's the point in worrying; or b) he's moving next year so what's the point in worrying! What was disappointing in both cases was that expected improvements to the car have yet to be realised. The only upside for BAR was that Panis managed to finally finish while Jaguar were their normal woeful selves. |
