Andy If you got the money to burn try the Crown casino . Mr. Irvine checked out of his hotel for it.
From what I remember there are a couple of hotels close to Albert Park which are within walking distance, I would probably suggest speaking to CAMS (Bruce Keys ) if he is still there looking after the marshals. They are useually helpful.
Good luck and enjoy. Have you booked for Indy yet?

Crown is a nice venue but upwards of $200/night on race weekend. The Centra is also a good pub, across from Crown and a little cheaper. There are others close to the track that would be better, a travel agent with deals this side of the world might be helpful??

Your best bet is to arrange a deal with a travel agent in your part of the world but you may be leaving it a bit late.

Consider staying in St Kilda - it's within walking distance of Albert Park and has some great late night places to eat, including the awesome Acland Street cake shops!

Hi Andrew, yes i've booked for both CANADA and INDY and I am really looking forward to all of them.
My only problem now is accommodation in OZ, it's nearly impossible. I'm going to try St Kilda as advised.

Hi Andrew, I have posted a request to australian explorer, but expect it to be very expensive...i am getting desparate to get accommodation. I am very surprised that CAMS don't arrange any accommodation as they do in CANADA. If I don't get luck soon I won't be going to the GP, i'll just have a holiday instead and catch a flight straight out of Melbourne to Perth.
Many thanks for the links above...regards andyP

I can no longer go to OZ for the GP!
Does anyone know who (At CAMS) I need to speak with to offer apologies?

From what people seem to tell me it is still Bruce Keys in charge of the marshals.
If i have still got an e-mail adress for him I will pass it on Mark.
