I feel confident about the top two, I agree with Jonny and pb that there's a good chance it's going to be Green and Hamilton. I'll go with Green. If those two aren't top five I'll be surprised.
1) Green 2) Hamilton 3) Watts 4) McLoughlin 5) Bell Pole time 44.572 I'll say top 24 within a second. I have, in the past, had drivers complain about my choices in these predictions. Feel free to prove me wrong. |

WOW!! Top 23 covered by a second in qualifying! Danny watts on pole with a time of 44.961.
Pat Long shows my faith in him is justified with 3rd place, 0.2 seconds behind Watts, sandwiching Fortec team-mate jamie Green giving a Fortec 1-2-3. The fourth Fortec driver, Luciano Garcia, only managed 11 laps and was 23rd, still within a second of pole. Roll on tomorrow! |

Don't mention F Renaults to me! Got attacked by two on Saturday and one Sunday. The Clios were great but had a huge shunt opposite post * (bottom Straight) which I believe resulted in Templetons car catching fire in a big big big way!

With no Bell, Hamilton or McLoughlin in the top five, the prediction competition this week was a low scoring one. No-one got the bonus point for getting the pole time within a tenth of a second, but Jonny Apex was spot on with how many would be within a second in qualifying. With a tie for the lead this week, pb btcc takes the official victory because his "20" was closer than kbudden's "18".
Scores: pb btcc 4 kbudden 4 Jonny Apex 3 bella 3 paulzinho 3 Paul Rayner 2 Whoops. Congratulations on proving me wrong, guys! |

damn, I forgot to post !
Race results were: Watts Green Lloyd Sharp Long As has been said before, Brands can lead to some boring racing (which is different from it being a boring track - it isn#t, its interesting and more technical than it seems)but I can tell you that when I was watching Alex Lloyd battling like crazy to keep Ryan Sharp behind him all race in order to get his first podium in F/R, then it didn't seem boring at all!! Suddenly it looked like there were loads of overtaking places! A bit like my German friend said ... seemed like Brazil had more players on the pitch. |

Lloyd, incidentally, needs one more small step, I think in the car set-up. No-one has managed to match Fortec's consistently good setup. But Lloyd has been fastest of the Motaworld drivers for a quite a while now, and I'm sure it's just a small change to make the car act the way the driver is most comfortable (pointy/oversteer in his case) and he should be on the pace on new tyres. He has always been there on old tyres, and is always quick off the mark - always top of the timing screen for the first few laps. He was 3rd at the last Croft test behind Sharp and Soderberg so should be likely to have a good test/qual/race next time at Croft.
Having said that about quick off the mark, Robbie Kerr put a new benchmark down for quick opening laps I thought ! |

I think Danny Watts has got Brands sorted. Pretty much a specialist, like Robbie Kerr. Pat Long was always good here too, and if he hadn't tried a silly move outside at the hairpin, he wouldn't have let Sharp through and could have stayed 4th. But look at Watts through Graham Hill ... just a silly little corner isn't it !

Afraid not Francesca, I was further down at Clark Curve (Post 22a) on the outside of the circuit. But, from there I had a good view of what was going on. The Clios normally manage to roll or get themselves into all sorts of bother when they come to Brands, that's probably why you heard the comment. I quite often tell them to 'mind my feet' if I have to be standing in the track trying to get them to avoid a 'clear up'. Some of them really do have their brains in their trousers you know
I think it was the F Ford guys I was trying to direct to slow down as they approached the pit entry lane as there was a stricken TVR Tuscan blocking the pitlane entry. Needless to say they don't slow down a great deal and still weave all over the track despite me standing slap bang in the middle! Anyone would have thought I was something to aim at!!! |

the problem with taking pictures is you don't get to actually watch the racing....
danny looked like he was having fun through paddock hill bend though. |
