Sebring's Future?
Murphy the Bear has a rumor that Panoz's tracks might be up for sale. Does anyone know anything? Is the furture of the March Sebring ALMS race as we know it in jeopardy? I sure hope not.

Please note, this is not an article from Murphy, rather one from A. C. Guillermo, which is Parody.

Nope, that's actually from a regular Murphy the Bear article:

Given that Panoz has officially released a teaser shot ahead of the Abruzzi's full, public release at Le Mans, it sounds like the group is ramping up, NOT shutting down.
Besides, even items posted in the actual articles are often quite dubious, so take this "rumor" with a rather large helping of salt. |

Just the thought of it though. Brings back sad memories from Riverside.

What they are talking about (Hall County) is building a loop on Hwy 53 that would by-pass both R/A and Lanier Speedway located directly accross the street for better local traffic flow.

A loop is good right? Easier access to the track, less traffic by non race travelers.
How could you build houses there anyway. Those hills are steep. The drainage is horrible. Cant see it happening. |

new developments and building new houses in Hall County, Georgia?! good to hear of a bypass round Lanier/Road ATL, for heavy event traffic. |

I'm guessing that the speedway is named after Randy Lanier?

many things in that area are named Lanier, after the lake which is close by, named Lake Sydney Lanier, after the Georgia musician and poet. I believe that is where the name comes from.
I still find it hard that the Don would give up Sebring and Road ATL; I know money talks and what not. Would he sell Chateau Elan, and everything before the tracks or would tracks be first on the block? |

He already did. It's owned by Marriott, I believe (or maybe run by them). A lot of what MTB writes about elan, ALMS and EMT is because he has a personal vendetta against Scott Atherton due to past things he wrote and that IMSA will not give him press accreditadtion. That said, he did have access to someone on the "inside" feeding him information. I believe that person has "left the building".
