2009 V8SCFC: Entries and Driver Changes
The 2009 edition of the V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship kicks off at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide in just under a months time in what is expected to be an exciting clash of new talent against wily championship veterans in the race for the Pete55 Memorial Trophy. Entering its seventh year on Network Ten-Tenths, this series can guarantee close racing, dodgy officiating, and heated rivalries. The 2009 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship Series is upon us. Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen), Start. Your. Engines! 1. Drivers You can hire up to 4 drivers to drive your cars, provided that their combined salary comes in below the $2,000,000 Salary Cap. Here is how much they cost: $1,600,000 Jamie Whincup Mark Winterbottom $1,400,000 Craig Lowndes Garth Tander $1,200,000 James Courtney Will Davison Rick Kelly Steven Richards $1,000,000 Lee Holdsworth Russell Ingall Steven Johnson Todd Kelly $800,000 Jason Bright Fabian Coulthard Greg Murphy Jason Richards Shane van Gisbergen $600,000 Jason Bargwanna Michael Caruso Alex Davison Paul Dumbrell Cameron McConville Steve Owen $400,000 Tony d’Alberto Marcus Marshall Michael Patrizi Other Drivers If anyone else not listed above drives in one of the non-enduro rounds, they will be valued at $200,000. Endurance Drivers Specialist enduro drivers will be available for Phillip Island and Bathurst. More info below. 2. Hiring & Firing As Team Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 4-driver limit. To sack/hire someone, post in the Driver Changes thread expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a driver change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is the start of first practise. However, you can only do this twice during the season. Endurance Drivers If you wish, you may use one of your two allocated driver changes to hire some of the one-hit-wonders that appear for Phillip Island and Bathurst. Your driver lineup, including enduro specialists, must still fit inside the $2M, 4-driver limits. You will automatically revert to your normal driver lineup after Bathurst, should you choose this option. Note that you do not have to pair up your drivers. The price list for enduro drivers will be released once we know who they are (sometime after Queensland). As an added incentive, the once-a-year brigade come with generously discounted price tags So to sum things up: - You can change your driver lineup twice during the regular single-driver rounds; or - You can change your driver lineup once during the regular single-driver rounds and also employ enduro drivers for Phillip Island and/or Bathurst; or - You can exercise your right not to use either driver change if you don't want to. 3. Points: Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a driver scores at each round in real life is what that driver will receive here, including penalties. Your worst round will not be dropped. You will not receive $200 for passing 'Go'. If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have ), there are a couple of likely reasons for this: 1) My maths stinks; 2) I missed your driver change; 3) I've only just realised one of your drivers got penalised somewhere along the line. Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct. 4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner: - One team per person, per year. - You don’t have to use all $2.5 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping. - A driver can be chosen by more than one team - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to drive 63 cars simultaneously. - Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude. - Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round. - After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda. 5. Team Announcements: Once you’ve picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season. To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release: Quote:
To keep things organised and easy-to-find, this is how the threads are arranged: The Rules (includes the Driver Price List): For reference purposes. Please read them at least once! Entries & Driver Changes Thread: For posting proper team entries/driver changes only. I’ll allow one livery to be shown in the initial team announcement, all others go in the Liveries thread. Current Round Results Thread: Toast your team, or roast your team, depending on how they fare. Liveries Thread: For showing off your warpaint. Apart from the above, I don't want to see any liveries posted anywhere else please. Please make sure I don’t have to deal with to many posts that have wandered out of their natural habitat. Like anyone, I get cranky when I’m overworked. Reminder on Posting Images: Quote:
7. Prizes: Yes, Prizes! Aside from the glory, adulation, and the magnificent Pete55 Memorial Trophy, the championship winner also gets to carry off the fantastic prize of a free one-year Subscription to Ten-Tenths, kindly supplied by Ten-Tenths.com – The Known and Unknown Universe’s Premier Motorsport Forum [/plug ]. There are no prizes for second. Aim higher! (Can I also say a big thank-you to EvilPumpkin, MagnetOn and the other forum deities for providing the goodies ) Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases! Your team can be altered without penalty until Adelaide first practise (March 19). Comments/suggestions/queries are more than welcome, either here or via PM. May the Fords be with you (or against you as the case may be), Antrodemus Top Dog, WOOFVESCO (World Organiser Of Fantasy Vee Eight Supercar Competitions) |

Australian Motorsports enter the '09 V8SFC: And they're keeping it all in the family!
Australian Motorsports is back for their third full season in the V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship. And this year, they're keeping it all in the family. Motoring journalists, associated press, and the general public were all invited to today's team launch, which was held at Mallala Motorsport Park, and the team succeeded in taking everyone by surprise, as the announcement came of the team's 2009 drivers. "As you know, at Australian Motorsports, we're all about family. We promote everyone to work together as a team, and when results come, we all celebrate as equals. We like to encourage a strong bond between team members. However, our twin team members, Larry and Melissa Hick, may have taken it too far when they got married... To each other," said Australian Motorsports CEO Chatters. "Apart from that, erm, misinterpretation of what we meant by 'Be as close as possible', our devoted staff is like a big family meeting up for a renuion every day at the workshop. So it gives me, our sponsors, and our team, great satisfaction to announce that we have, for the 2009 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship season, signed Will and Alex Davison." *cue gasps* "As you know, Will has been great to us since we started out 3-and-a-half years ago as Team Sony Vodafone, then Vodafone Team Racing, and finally as Australian Motorsports, a name we have been proud to use since 2007. So naturally, his signing was something of a no brainer." "It's fantastic to be back with Australian Motorsports again," Said Will Davison, who was present at the launch. "I've had some good times with them, and I hope I can bring them great results again." Will there be much of a rivalry between he and brother Alex? "Not apart from the normal sibling rivalry, no!" Jokes Davison. "Seriously however, the restraining order taken on me forbids me from any 'serious' 'rivalry'." He said, with suspicious looks towards the team's lawyers. Will Davison will be driving the #0 Holden Commodore, which proudly shows off the team's green-and-gold national colours. "The car looks fantastic!" Said Chatters. "I'm very proud of the result produced by our wonderful livery designer, Chatters." Alex Davison, who was unable to be at the launch due to emergency surgery after a freak bathtub accident, will be behind the #4 car. However, it isn't sponsored by IRWIN Tools... "No, quite untrue, this whole '#4 sponsored by IRWIN' rumour," Chatters had to say. "This year, we have gained the support of Wattyl paints, another company proudly associated with Australia, and as a result we've had an incredible 'flouro-flame' livery made." The team's thired driver, also unable to attend the launch today, was youngster Jack Perkins. Perkins will drive the #09 'Green' Origin Energy Commodore. "Yes, as everyone looks towards green energy these days, we've jumped aboard by gaining the sponsorship of Origin Energy and their carbon reduction partners, Transurban and Intrepid Travel. The car looks great, and is doing its bit for the environment. We saved .003192 trees, the equivalent of removing 1 car from Australian roads for less then 10 seconds, by not printing out a copy of the car to hang on our notice board in the workshop." Finally came the announcment of the sponsors. With primary sponsors of Holden, Wattyl Paints and Origin Energy, the team was also happy to announce a minor sponsor of Holden Special Vehicles. As well, QANTAS, AutoBarn, and Repco all renewed their sponsorship of the team, while the team has also gained sponsorship from Australian sock giant Holeproof, and the ANZ Bank. We wish the team the best of luck for this year in the V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship! AUSTRALIAN MOTORSPORTS TEAM NAME: Australian Motorsports MAJOR SPONSORS: Holden, Wattyl Paints, Origin Energy MINOR SPONSORS: Holden Special Vehicles, Transurban, Intrepid Travel PARTNERS: QANTAS, Repco, Autobarn, ANZ, Holeproof. MANUFACTURER: HOLDEN DRIVERS: #0 Will Davison - $1,200,000 #4 Alex Davison - $600,000 #09 Jack Perkins - $200,000 |

That Wattyl car is just insane Chatters, looks great!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL-AMERICAN RACERS All-American Racers looks to enter their fourth season in the prestigious Ten-Tenths Fantasy V8 Supercar Championship. The 2009 season looked to be a year of recession, with many teams planning to run less cars, however that hasn't stopped AAR from entering THREE cars into the 2009 fold. Again pairing up with long time associate Holden, AAR has a total of ten VE Commodores available to our three drivers, that equates out to two spare cars per driver, plus some extras, just in case. :P Our three drivers for this year are Russel "The Enforcer" Ingall, Jason "I've Been in this Sport Way Too Goddamn Long" Bargwanna, and Marcus "I Won't Hit the Wall, I Swear!" Marshall. Team principal Matt Wood was on hand to discuss the launch. "I think we've got a great lineup this year, with two very experienced drivers, and a driver we can mold. Ingall and Bargs will be a valuable asset to the team, due to the years of experience they share between themselves, should be a great year!" Wood said. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The launch, held at Sandown Raceway, was held on a cloudy Thursday afternoon, but that didn't stop the teams new VE's from looking as great as ever. Principals from new sponsors 7-Eleven, Winfield, and Subway were on hand to see the new warpaint for AAR's 2009 campaign, and they were not disappointed. "The cars look great," said Wood, "I'm glad we could work with our sponsors to have three cars that look nearly identical, but you can still identify them apart. The main theme this year was just that, a sense of unity, which the designer handled very well." Without further adieu, here are AAR's 2009 car/driver liveries. In car number 0, driving for Subway, will be Marcus Marshall! In the signature/famous(or infamous if you've been on the other end) AAR car #64, will be a bit of a big combination. We've got three very "historical" things happening. The long-standing #64, return of Winfield, and after a short hiatus, Jason Bargwanna back behind the wheel of a Supercar! Now the coup de grâce, in the most surprise move, we've put The Enforcer into a brand new car, sponsor, and number to the team. Worldwide Convenience store chain, 7-Eleven will be adorning Russel's #711(see what we did there? :P) VE Commodore, sure to excite the masses, since we've got free slurpies for everyone on race weekends. All in all, 2009 looks to be a great year for AAR, we hope to get our first win in the series, and will want to be a threat for the championship! Our famous, or infamous, if you happened to be caught out at one, paddock parties will be making their return, on the Friday nights of the events, free beer, burgers, and hot dogs are available to anyone who wishes to stop by, and mingle with the V8 drivers! I'd like to wish everyone good luck for a successful 2009 FV8SC season! Quote:
