Interesting developments in South Africa
There's talk that Formula Ford will merge with Formula Volkswagen for 2010 and the Ford name will be quietly dropped as the class is remamed to F/Junior or something.
F/VW was introduced 3 yrs ago using the cars that plied their trade in Germany from 2000. Now thay are fitted with 16valve engines but fields have been very thin. After Wesleigh Orr gave up before the end of the year, Simon Moss won the title from Tasmin Pepper. Ardent F/Ford supporter and car owner Ian Schofield got the ball rolling and grids of 30 car are expected to be the norm next year. |

Interesting development rychard, I guess on one hand purists of F Ford may frown at such a series but anything that can rustle up big entries in today's climate has got to be applauded surely? Seems a very sensible idea.
Sounds like there'll be some good people running the thing as well which will help with admin and pr? |
