2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Round 14: Gillette Fusion ProGlide 500, Pocono Raceway
the "summer" racing season is upon us. we head north to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
JAYSKI RACE PAGE 1st Pratice Friday at Noon and two more practices Saturday at 10 & 11 (All EST) Q-ing Friday, 330 pm EST Green Flag 1:16pm EST Sunday TV coverage moves to TNT, with Adam Alexander, Wally and Kyle Petty. first race ought to be a welcome relief from the FOX crew, but that relief won't last. what's wrong with just two guys in the booth?! there is a chance of rain from now through the weekend. |

As a Truex Jr fan, I am not sure I have ever had it so good.
In touching distance of the the chase with a good few rounds down, just joined MWR, but yet I am disappointed. The Chase is coming. I pray, at least. |

nope...nascar "banned" it for whatever reason with requiring certain gear ratios at Pocono, something that only the likes Larry Mac and James May would excited about.
was it Tim Richmond or Neil Bonnet that first figured that out? hmmm.... |

they are about to get q-ing underway...
skies are clear, for now...just saw a forecast for 70% chance if T-storms on raceday. Practice one had Jimmie J, John Paul, DenKNEE, Junior and the 'dinger at the top of the charts. |

It was just a matter of time. The 7 missed a race.

I expected a little better pace out of the #47 in the sessions as he normally runs quiet well here, hopefully they have a good race package

looking like we could have a short race or a delayed one...what was a 70% chance of t-storms is now up to 90%. |

another late caution, due to a get together between Harvick and Logano (which is another story altogether), gives us a G/W/C finish.
Denny Hamlin gets yet another win at Pocono. Kyle makes it a JGR 1-2. RESULTS |

I thought Kasey was gonna end up in the woods.
That straight reminds me a lot of Thompson Motor Speedway, cept Thompson doesn't have a fence in the corner at the wall, it's about 15 feet back. |

Harvick and Logano incident and interviews
as for the incident, if it wasn't less than 2 laps to go, Harvick should have cut him some slack. i can't recall them, but apparently this is not the first time that these two have tangled. hard to tell. just one of them racin deals. impressive slide by Joey, tho!! doesn't show it in this video, but Joey's dad (from what gathered from announcers) can be seen encouraging Joey to go let Harvick know of his displeasure. IMO, i don't think Harvick needs to hide behind his crew from a skinny 20 year old kid. maybe he was taking the hide road, or was just being "cool". you know, points leaders don't want to do anything "stupid". regardless, Joey saying that his "wife wears the fire suit in the family and tells him what to do." classic. |

that was scary. i've never seen a car actually touch the trees outside the wall on that straight.
the worst part about the wreck was Ambrose going head first into the backfilled armco barrier. when steve park and dale jr barreled into a few years back, they hit a soft wall on a straight. Pocono has had it's fair share of nasty wrecks on the straights, probably more than other tracks, but when will we see soft walls everywhere in nascar? wait...that answer is obvious. |

I was out with family, so I didn't get to see the race. I've heard what happened at the end, and now my hatred for Harvick is through the roof. What a slimeball and coward, honestly.

while joey did come down on harvick, he is still a coward, and somewhat of a phallus. his wife looks good in a fire suit, tho.

neither driver will receive any penalty, but Joey's dad had a finger shaken at him: Quote:

on the footage you couldn't really see how Ambrose ended up where he did, all I saw was him exiting onto the grass at a reduced speed. Hope all is well and he hasn't done himself a mischief prior to Sonoma |
