Rallycross euro 2000 footage
Hi, does anyone have any euro 2000 videos or pictures? I have done a bit of searching but have not found anything yet.

I think yoou might be struggling there chap.
It was a very poorly suported series and did not run for very long. Best product of it was Patrick van Mechelen who worked wonders in a Corsa that I believe still runs in Belgium! |

I think the only Euro 2000 thing I've got would probably be a photo or two of Trev Stretch's Corsa that he used to run in British Supermodified. Where those photos are is another question!

Shouldn't there be footage on the Duke Video Season Reviews?

Euro2000 should have been the future of rallycross back then but it came from the wrong persons so some egocentrical 'authorities' did everything to kill it. |

WJ, it WAS popular in the Benelux countries, but nowhere else. Dont thin it was even adopted anywhere else.
I am not sure what the guy asking was talking about, but wasn't it supposed to eventually be part of ERC at one time, and they had a few demo meetings? But only a few cars showed up. I do not spectate in Holland or Belgium so how on earth would I know how popular it was? Like me asking you how popular SPC rallycross was over here in the 80's! |

Tom Mussuen (spelling?) ran the ex- Huybs/ex me Lancer at Lydden the other week. I ran it in EURO 2000 spec when I bought it from Jan. Great car but commuting from the US wasn't practical. Tom has it running really well.

I thnk Tom has done the decent thing and turbocharged it! Originally it was an N/A spec and realy rather lacking in power!
But a great platform for a car, and surprised noone else ever really used one |

Ran in the UK for a few seasons, drivers included Ken Lane, Paul Broatch, Paul Gosling, Richard Moroney, Dave Liptrott, Mike Wood. Usually enough for a full grid in the finals plus when they were at Lyddem the Benelux lot came over.

Can anyone remember what the basic regs were as it looks like right now it might be exactly what is needed to get modified on the same equal footing, get rid of turbos and blowers etc.

Ivo Van Den Brandt used the same car in EURO2000, it was the converted older Lancer model of Jan Huybs. Ivo raced that also in ERC Touringcars, converted to RWD. |

I still own one of the Original euro2000 cars, the yellow Nissan Primera wich was driven at the time by Tonny Achten.
It is currently being rebuild to see some more action. |

It was built I think by Richard Moroney for Euro 2000 I think, then sold to Dave Liptrott who also raced it in Euro 2000 I am trying to research the full history of the car so if anyone has some old photos or info, that would be greatly appreciated. |

I still have 2 EURO2000 cars. A Nissan Sunny which I used 1997-1998-1999 and is now used sometime in the flamish VAS competition. The other car is a Nissan Micra kitcar which I used 2000-2001-2002. This one was lighter, had a decent dogbox and a 230 hp engine. Second place in 2002 but that year most EURO2000 drivers were gone already. The Micra is a restauration object at the moment.
