For some this may appear a silly question, but I have no real idea where to start looking.

So how do I go about step 1? ie getting my racing license?

Sorry if you know any of this already, but it may come in handy for anyone else interested in starting racing.

Your first step should be to go to www.msauk.org and read up on applying for a Go Racing pack.

Then find out about the different championships available, and find one that takes your fancy and looks within your budget, get as much information from the organisers of the series, and if you decide it's for you, join the relevant club. You could try these websites for a start:

www.brdc.co.uk

Bear in mind you'll need things like a medical before you get a licence, and you'll also need basic safety gear - helmet, gloves, overalls etc.

Anyone thinking of becoming a racing driver might also want to do some of the track experience days available at most circuits, to see if they enjoy it, and to find out whether single seaters or saloons is more their style.

As some of you will know I am in the TSM Scholarship at the moment, but I need to look at alternatives just in case.
