Speeedo should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Narain to Nissan

Indian Narain Karthikeyan has dropped his Nippon plans last moment, even after attending the Official test sessions with LeMans Team and finishing 3rd overall. He will now be doing the Formula Dallara-Nissan (if thats what it is called) instead. Its Europe where he wants to be, so he says in the press. Now help me here, is this a step up or down for him? Or maybe he has already missed the F1 bus. I wonder where one can get info on this series, just to know how the series is doing. Thank God for Alonso

A step sideways maybe? The organisers made the series out to be an alternative for drivers who couldn't reach F1 but wanted to make a living in a top class series. Hope that doesn't mean Narain's given up on F1.

It all depends on the final driver line-up, but the World Series V6 by Nissan (or whatever they change its name to next!) looks pretty promising and should be taken seriously. Even the F3000 champion Justin Wilson's looking at it. F.Nippon doesn't seem to be taking anyone towards F1 at the moment anyway, not since R.Schumacher, de la Rosa and Takagi.

Official website is here: http://www.opentelefonica.com/

And I'm covering the series at: http://uk.geocities.com/unofficialf3000/

I really hope that this series grows out to become something like a european formula one championship, a real alternative for drivers who couldn't afford F1, so they can stay in single seaters and make a living instead of moving to sportscars or dtm. I really believe we need something like this: what kind of sport has only 20 competitors?!?
