Heir To Schumachers Throne?
1. Giancarlo Fisichella - Probably the safest bet for the Italian squad. Proven abbility, proven speed, and lots and lots of experience. Maybe a little too much experience, age does matter. His nationalty could help.
2. Fernando Alonso - His talent is rumoured to be of biblical proportions. Trained by Renault, just in time before Ferrari make him their offer he cannot refuse. 3. Juan Pablo Montoya - According to most sources, closest to the deal. Seems to have enough confidence to take on the job, but has he got what it takes? Maybe he should be beating Ralf by bigger margians to be actually considered by the Italians. 4. Rubens Barrichello - Could a promotion be in the cards for the Brazilian? Despite contractual factors, was able to show superior speed at some occasions during 2002. The F2002 seems to suit him relatively better than it does Michael. Some would call it justice. 5. Someone Else. |

Drivers like TGF come along about one in every 20 years. So I don't think he's arrived yet. Either that or Monty.

Are you talking about heir to TGFs seat at Ferrari or the next god. If the latter I think Kimi if McLaren Mercedes sort out the power. Kimis a coldhearted killer! Like TGF and Senna before him. And he is only 22!!! Yikes...

No
strictly Ferrari´s next number one driver. So the driver literally taking over from Schumacher. Somehow, I don´t see Kimi in a Ferrari. Not in a short term anyway. |

Errr.... yes... I mean.... (what was the question again?)... KIMI!!!! (if I really have to pick oneof the current crop)
By the way David, I also don't see him at Ferrari in the near future. However I don't see any dribver other than Schumacher as Ferrari's No.1. In the near future.... |

Kimi will be a good champion!
Just imagine what it will be like if JPM wins the WDC, I'm sure he'll have much much more to say! |

Someone else... someone who's about to come. Look in the lower categories, look in the new ones that are coming in...

I'd have to say JPM, but the futures looking very good with the likes of JPM, Kimi, Heidfeld, Webber, Massa, Jenson, Sato all with years of F1 left in them.

Not gonna happen, but I'd love to see them buy JV's contract from BAR.

Schumi has been at the top of the sport for nine years, which is a long time, by historical standards. For example, Ayrton Senna's years at the top were arguably 1988 through 1993 - six years; Jim Clark's years were 1962 through 1967 - also six years; even Juan Fangio was at the top only for eight years (1950 through 1957). This suggests that Schumi's heir apparent is overdue, so I vote for Juan Pablo. If the Williams BMW package becomes just a little better, he'll start winning regularly, I think.

Drivers like Schumacher comes once in a life time! Here I put my foot down. Maybe the day I die, I will say: "Man I so no one like Schumacher!" He is supreme among all drivers, if not for you certainly for me! What I have seen from him is unbelievable. Supremacy to the point of agony. I will say the same about Diego Armando Maradona.
