Go-Kart out races New Lambourguini Diabilo

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but when channel flicking at the week-end (as you do!) i flicked on to chennel 5 and saw the new Lambo being thrashed around a circuit, thought, this looks interesting, then to my surpise a Formula A Go-kart was parked up on the start line and ended up lapping FOUR SECONDS faster!! Good publicity for karting with one out racing a £200,000 sports car!

wow , must have been a tight track was it ?

Karts can simply corner faster due to their size but top speed usually get blown away.

still an interesting exercise thats for sure

well done to the Kart driver !!!

Was a pretty tight track but there was a big straight at the end where both had to be floored and there still was barely anything it in. But the kart blew the Lambo away through the tight and twisty sections, as you say due to the weight and also it's short length which enables good turning

The driver was a 15 year old girl in an 85cc junior gearbox kart. The course was of naturaly set up to favour the kart, it was a kids programme after all. Sarahs performance was impressive however as the programme went out live, so no room for mistakes. The Lambo' was doing about 110mph as it crossed the finish whereas Sarah was probably doing about 70.
In rehersals on Friday the track was soaked and she was still 3/4 seconds quicker, and the Lambo is 4 wheel drive.
Thanks for the positive comments btw.

Amazing that the Lambo had 5 gears left though. Apples and oranges, with the oranges stacked in favour of the kart. Bit like the fighter jet vs the Ferrari F1 car. Interesting but slightly warped in the suitablity for intended purpose stakes.

I did't know Lambos had 8 gears.
As I said the stunt was set up to favour the kart, and to outsiders of our sport (which the programe targets) the fact that a £2.5k vehicle with 24hp was quicker over a set course than a £150k vehicle with 500hp, is still impresive.

Probably not a lot quicker. The 125's will only be quicker at acceleration as they and Sara's use the same chassis, so mayby 1 second quicker if that. The 250 possably slower overall on same course.
