Who got a FRANCHISE for Xmas?
Ok, I'll have a go. This is what I believe to be the situation as I write.
L1 = HRT, Kmart(formerly JFR), 00, Lansvale, Romano(for sale or lease?), DJR, SBR, Briggs, GRM, CPR, LMS, GSR, BJR. L2 = SER, TB, Toll, IMS(for sale or lease?), TKR, PWR(for sale), Thexton(formerly Paragon), Pepsi, Sirromet. |

L1=TWRA,JFR,LRT,TD,GRM,CPR,00,DJR,SBR,Briggs,LMS,GSR,BJR
L2=SER,PLR,TKR,Thexton,Romano,PMM,RNR,IMS&Weel as TB, And thats all... dont believe Weel is for sale, despite the ad, the Nash thing went bang as he wants to do his own thing rather than be with HRO! |

I think you will find that both Romano and Briggs only have Level 2 Franchises. I know for sure the CAT Franchise was definatley a Level 2

Most of those franchises and who has them do not make sence at all. I think most are probably not correct just wait and see next year

Especially when you consider that one of the teams (can't recall which one now - was in last weeks AA) mentioned a Level 3 franchise...which is the first time I have head of an L3 being mentioned...

The L3 being spoken of was regarding Faulkner's Qld adventures, and yes a team needs a L3 to run a Konica car, which gets them nothing much more than an entry on a mailing list and access to prizemoney if the team is that lucky to do any good in Privateer Paradise
PWR's L2 was for lease/sale in AA last week but since Mr Nash seems to have retained his delusions of a private team taking it up to the big boys, HRO needs the slot... And I doubt there will be any more twiddling on the franchise front... drivers/teams and marques, now there are many rumours around Oh, and the latest V8X values a L2 franchise at $500k, based on the price paid by Mr Thexton. If I have $500k laying around, I would be inclined to buy then lease to someone.. the annual CAMSVESCO income from a L2 is said to exceed $250k per annum... where else but TC land could you buy something for $500k and get a 50% annual return???? |

Close Tricky... looking good though
Still dont reckon they will replace a Kelly with a Kelly at JFR, Weel is more likely to my mind... And Besnard is a definite special for prodrive... Owen Kelly may end up at 00 but not prodrive... Dont be 100% sure about McConville either till the 2nd GRM place is announced. Pretty has been hinted for that role, but McConville is very high in that team's assessment. Remember, a contract is made of the same material as a cheque... |

LOL @ RaceTime... only if its an Arrows TWR cheque I think...
It used to be "a contract is made from the same material as money" but we use plastic money now so it doesnt fit... to infer contracts can be bought |

I guess it could also be inferred that a contract encompasses a screwer and a screwee - thus the rubber connotation takes on yet another meaning
