Russian F3????

As far as I know, there are 5 circuits in Russia(+1 outside the country makes 6). Is it possible to run an F3 calendar on 6 circuits? Anyway, could you feed me more info on the competition?

The only thing i know about russian F.3 is that in 2003 probably the championship will be for russian drivers only. St.Peterbourg is a circuit, the others are street m.m. track. Bye

heh, I don't know exactly, how many race tracks are in Russia, because there's only one permanent circuit in whole country - Neva Ring in St. Peterbourg, all others are temporary ones.

there're four main categories in russian road racing championship : Formula 3, Formula 1600, Supertouring and Touring (most of Touring cars are identical with DTC cars, just one year older).

as far as I understood, you're interesting in F3 championship only

ok then.

there's the list of russian F3 champions :

1997 : Viktor Kosankov (Alberto Pedemonte won F3 title in Rothmans-ASPAS series in 97)
1998 : Viktor Kosankov (Alberto Pedemonte won F3 title in Rothmans-ASPAS series in 98)
1999 : Alberto Pedemonte
2000 : Alberto Pedemonte
2001 : Mauricio Mediani
2002 : Andrea Belicchi

in 2002 the F3 championship races were in St. Peterbourg (Neva Ring circuit), Moscow (Myachkovo) and Togliatti (street course, Togliatti is the town, where the largest russian car manufacturer is located) - six rounds in total.

Formula 3 2002 final standings :

1) Andrea Belicchi (Lukoil Racing) 80 pts in 6 races
2) Mauricio Mediani (ART-Line Engineering) 75 pts in 4 races
3) Aleksey Pavlovskiy (Lukoil Racing) 74 pts in 6 races
4) Mikhail Alyoshin (Lukoil Racing) 40 pts in 4 races
5) Sergey Zlobin (SC Racing) 30 pts in 4 races
6) Viktor Kosankov (ART-Line Engineering / SC Canopus) 20 pts in 5 races
7) Carp Hashafov (SC Racing) 18 pts in 2 races
8) Aleksandr Nesterov (ART-Line Engineering) 18 pts in 2 races
9) Evgeniy Kuvaldin (SC Racing) 15 pts in 1 race
10) Denis Ulin (unknown team) 12 pts in 3 races
11) Ilya Kosankov (SC Canopus) 0 pts in 1 race
12) Aleksandr Tyuryumin (ART-Line Engineering) 0 pts in 1 race

any questions ?

PS : probably, the spelling of some russian names is not correct for english language, but I just tried to show, how they should sound in russian.

Please tell me his results.
Toccacello's first race in Russia was in the beginning of June 2001 at the second round of the f3 championship in Tver (airdrome "Migalovo"). He replaced Aleksandr Antonov in the 'ART-Line Engineering' team.
Toccacelo won the qualify, second was his teammate Mauricio Mediani.
Mediani was quicker that Toccacelo at the start of the race, so Enrico was behind Mauricio after the first corner.
Toccacelo tried to overtake Mediani on the 8th lap, but he collided with Mediani : as a result, Toccacelo broke the front wing of his Dallara and was forced to retire few laps later. Mediani finished 1st, ahead of Lukoil drivers Pedemonte and Pavlovskiy.
during next round in St. Peterbourg Toccacelo was 2nd (time - 1:06.483) in qualifying session behind Mediani (1:06.045) and finished 3rd in the race behind Mediani and Pedemonte, also he set the fastest lap of the race - 1:05.276.
next round of the F3 championship was again in St. Peterbourg, but Toccacelo wasn't there - Team Astromega invited him to test the F3000 Lola B99/50.
Toccacelo also missed two rounds in Togliatti and one round in Moscow (street course in Moscow, not an airdrome in Myachkovo),
so, his last race in russian F3 was once again in St. Peterbourg at Neva Ring - and he managed to win there once again, ahead of Pedemonte and Mediani.
in overall standings he was on 6th place with 32 pts, his team, ART-Line Engineering, was 1st in teams championship with 196 pts.

but.... just few days later, Lukoil Racing team entered a protest against Toccacelo, because Enrico had expired RAF licence (RAF = russian automobile federation), when he raced at the last round of the championship.
Toccacelo was disqualified and, as a result, the teams title went to Lukoil Racing, ART-Line team stayed only 2nd.
