The TV really isn't going to give you any real sense of what will be a very exciting day...I havent been for yers either, 1978 or 79 I think, but wouldnt miss this opportunity...I'm going to try view from the inside of Graham Hill...havent bought grandstand seats so I'll get there early pick a spot plant my flag (metapohrically speaking of course) and claim it as sovereign territory for the day

Unfortunately I'll be watching it on TV, assumming its on terrestial TV!

If I was going my viewing would be determined partly by the size of the Group of friends I was with. With the number of people there I suspect that if going on your own, or just with a friend one really needs a grandstand seat, otherwise once you have found a pitch for the day moving won't be an option!

Is South Bank going to be open for cars? Thats always a good option, saves carrying your food and drink supplies all days, is dry if/when it rains!

Icidentially if it does rain what happens? Presumably CART does run but the BTCC and other support will.

Best of luck Paul with trying to watch from what is now called Graham Hill bend. Used to be my favouite place around 1957-59.Could not afford paddock or stand tickets on my pocket money. But I remember you could see the expressions on the faces of drivers like Bruce McLaren & Jack Brabham in those days of open face helmets.

I would suggest the following places:

Paddock Hill Bend (grandstands sold out I believe)
Inside of Druids Hairpin/Paddock Hill
Outside of Druids
South Bank (I think it will be open but get there really early to find a decent spot)
Clark Curve.

For Sunday and Monday make sure you get there early (8.00am) if you want a decent place to watch, after that it will be packed.

I would have thought so. Entry is normally via the bridge half way up Paddock Hill, between posts 4 and 5

I know there has been countless debates on the changes at Brands, last year being a keen hobby photographer, i went to nearly every meeting 2 wheels and 4, this year however i have only been to one bike meeting ,in my opinion and many photographers opinions they have tottaly spoilt the track and the best place to watch racing now is indeed at home on the telly. Who would of thought that one bloody cart meeting could completelly ruin what was the best race track in Britain. I have noticed many A### lickers out there defending the changes, but if you look its just the usual suspects brown noseing.
