Sony EyeToy
For those of you that don't know this little gadget is basically a web cam that you plug into your PS2. This puts you into the game and your body becomes the control pad with any movement you make being interpreted on screen. Then, with the game disc you can play 12 mini games which basically all revolve around the theme of flailing your arms about like a loon. I bought it today and can honestly say this is the new twister. There is so much potential for party game fun. However, I would warn you that it is suprising just how knackered you can get from waving your arms about for a couple of minutes.
The best game I have found so far is Kung Fu which has you punching away wave after wave of mini ninjas as they try to attack you. You look really cool on screen but to anyone watching I'm sure I look like a fool (well slightly more than normal at least). I thoughly recommend this for anyone who has a PS2 and at least one friend! |

Yep, although upper body tends to be best for most of the games.

Just bought it today.
Will try tommorow. Apparently the technology will be improved with each incarnation. There will be an Eyetoy 2 out in the future and follow-ups. As the camara is included in the game pack Sony can upgrade Eyetoy technology with each release if they so wish. The technology will be implemented into other games, such as putting your face onto a game character etc. |

Tried it yesterday. It is amazing.
The whole family wanted to go on it. Apparently its outsold the new Tomb Raider hugely. I would recommend anyone to buy one. You'll not regret it. Last edited by JAG; 7 Jul 2003 at 13:33. |

they need to bring out one which turns your brother into a monster so you have a valid reason to beat him up.

Apparently you can use the camera to put your face into the new Tony Hawks game (not my cup of tea) so the technology must be there.

Combine with alcohol and could become quite fun - aimed probably at kids/teenagers but could appeal to anyone, particularly students for the alcohol bit: after all the intro/how to use video has a granny acting as the player (its quite funny when she starts dancing). Put all that together and its already becoming a success - Sony seeming forgot to tell you that you get a free workout whilst playing:
