Who's out in 2004?
Simple question, which of the current drivers (including Pizzonia) won't have a F1 race seat in 2004, and where do you think they will go?
Although I dont expect most of these to depart, I've included all names not contracted or confirmed for next season (I think Toyota have comfirmed both?). PS. Multiple choice poll |

Doesn't it seem sad that drivers like Fisichella, Coultard, Barrichello, and Ralf all have secure seats in F1, despite having had race winning cars for many more seasons than Jacques, yet failing to chalk up as many wins as he (let alone a WDC) that it is Jacques who doesn't have a drive in F1??? Sad indeed. |

I think the shown percentages are strange.
If 9 people have voted, and 9 of them voted for Pizzonia, his percentage should be 100%, not 23.68%. In a poll in which more than 1 choice can be made, these percentages make no sense at all. |

Yes, I think you'll find the percentages are for total votes made (rather than voters). Software glitch I think.

Pizzonia, Fretnzen, Villeneuve, Heidfeld. But I am hoping Nick will find a ride, maybe with Jordan.

Pizzonia won't be there for sure while Frentzen will probably miss a seat while JV will miss out on a seat unless he lowers his price rather significantly.

Wurz has signed on at Mclaren for another year of testing so I would think that he's pretty much ruled out.
Though having said that if Jordan get Mercs, Mac may want him driving the Jordan for extra feedback.... PS Don't you just love it when you think of a contadiction to yourself midpost |

Kiesa depends on whether he can raise the sponsorship needed to race at Minardi, Unfortunatly Firman may well be out of a drive, he hasn't done too badly and has scored one of jordans 2 point finishes, and was running with Fisi in Brazil until his suspension collapsed.
i would've hoped DC would be out of a drive but i heard that he had been confirmed at Mclaren, but that might be wrong. |

Hasn't Frentzen indicated that he's willing to stand aside and settle for a test driving role next year?

HHF is certainly off out the retirement door. If Villeneuve isn't careful, he'll join him, but the more contracts that are re-signed, the more Villeneuve will stay with BAR.
Pizzonia won't get another chance. He'll be a test driver if he's lucky. Kiesa is there to fill a seat until 2004. If he can get some cash, then perhaps he'll be back, but I doubt it. Firman depends on what Jordan does for 2004. And it seems Nick is in the same boat, but I'm hoping (praying?) that Nick will still be there next year. |
