Yep, I'll be around somewhere waving the "laundry". Thats assuming that someone called Mark Ch has cleared the rubbish out of his spare rooms. Its probably going to be a bit chilly for camping!!!

Don't bother.Went 2 yrs running to support 2CVs- each time there was less area to spectate from. Was variously blamed on extra safety for the trucks or a firework display.

I'll be there in my usual place. Apparently this is the last time trucks may race at Donington ever so I wouldn't miss it for the world.

I think it's shame too because I always have great fun with the trucks. However, if you were a circuit owner spending huge amounts of money getting the place resurfaced you really wouldn't want those great smelly beasts digging it up less than a year later would you?

Jackie will be there in her capacity of flaggie, and I will no doubt be everywhere with either crutches or wheelchair (but not marshalling I'm afraid).

We were at Pembrey over the weekend for the BTRA round. If the racing matches what happened (especially between Steve Horne and David Jenkins), then we're in for a treat.

Funny, Thruxton had no problems with the trucks ripping the circuit up after it was resurfaced. They even invited the French trucks to have a go.

The descision to forbid spectating in certain areas at Donny while trucks are racing is a damn good one....

I was at a metting 2 or 3 yrs ago where we had a truck go straight through the gravel trap and tha safety fencing and ended up astride a wall down at the old haipin...

Would have been a bit messy if there had been speccys or marshals in the way...................

I was contemplating just how comfortable I would feel standing at Goddards in the capacity of a photographer with those things rattling towards me and concluded "not very"
So I decided not to even bother trying to get a pass and just enjoy the racing and fireworks

In 2000 you could still watch from the outside of Redgate. In 2001 I was stopped from going there by a marshal who said it was because the fireworks were set up in the spectator enclosures! So i ask where CAN one watch from he suggested the infield. So down the tunnel where I was confronted by 2 layers of fencing-no chance of seeing much.I suggest if people want to race jugernoughts, they build themseves a 'Camiondrome'with 20ft concrete walls?
Certainly good news that they may not be seen at Donington again.Maybe we wil be able to see the 2CVs & karts at a proper race meeting?

I just contacted Donington for clarification of any access restrictions and received the following information (bold and italics added by me):

"you can spectate from Redgate but the area will be cleared when the racing finishes as the fireworks are set-off from the back of Redgate.
You can walk virtually all around the track until you get to the DPRAC enclosure which has now been fenced off.
But in effect yes you can spectate from all areas available except when racing finishes."

If you saw the mess that a pair of trucks made of the concrete walls at Post 6 (Top of the Craners) you wouldn't want to get too close!!

When one of those things losses it there's on one course of action.

RUNAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY.

Yeah I remember last year going into Hollywood one of the trucks took a nice chunk of concrete wall, did some pretty heavy damage to the fron end of the truck.

Anyway the driver attactched a note to the window as he got out.... a "For Sale" sign!!!!!

Well, that was fun I hadn't realised there was going to be three truck races, thought it was just going to be two. Fantastic to see the 2CVs as well, but I still don't know how anyone can ever get excited about any form of Karts.
Fireworks were great as well
