Can anyone tell me.......
Guys I have a memento from the first Gold Coast Champcar race (when the class was still called Indycar)in 1991.
It is a cap (bright green) with the logo "Gold Coast, Speed Limit 350kmh" on it. Mine is special. It has the autographs of Mario Andretti, Al Unser Junior, Eddie Cheever and Arie Luyendyck on the peak. I want to auction this cap toraise money for an Australian children's charity (Variety Club) but have no idea of its value. Can any of you give me some guidance? |

Hello, stoned pony,
The fact that you are going to auction it for charity alters (increases) the price expectation. Multiple autographs (if in good shape, readable) are more valuable than separate ones - I mean, one cap with four autographs is more valuable than four caps with one autograph each. Considering your purposes (charity) I would set the initial bid at USD 120.00 (maybe more, depending on who the bidders are - racing fans, non-racing fans, average purchasing power, usual commitment to charities, etc.) Cheers, Muzza Last edited by Muzza; 31 Mar 2004 at 07:14. |

Thanks, Muzza. I appreciate your help on this. Maybe there is a story here: "Former ChampCar racers help Volvo" (heh, heh, heh!)
