What Track Would You Bring to 2005 and What Would be Sacrificed?
Over the past few years there have been some dramatic changes to schedule and tracks that are visited by the series. This includes some of the last of the "classic" tracks or tracks that were less classic but quiet enjoyed. We like to lement and say that we wish X track was on the schedule, etc. To reasonably be able to afford the expense of a big money losing event, other events would have to be sacrificed because there's only so much money to go around. In fact I'd argue that two minor mony losing events would have to be sacked to make room for one cash sink hole event.
So my question is this, is there any one event that you would trade for two of the events currently on the 2005 schedule (name the events)? I realize that not all events make equal money, but humor the question and assume that the one event you name would be marketed like no other. |

I'd replace just about any street circuit with Michigan in a heartbeat.

San Jose and Korea for Phoenix (oval).
IMHO I would have Indy, but's impossible unless there is a merge around the corner. Also I like Michigan, Elkhart lake, Laguna Seca, Mid-Ohio, Brands Hatch, but the list goes on. |

I thought the race at brand hatch was one of the most boring things I had ever seen in my life , I dont think anyone actually passed someone that day.
but the Grand prix circuit is much better. I'd be well in favour of dropping one of the street tracks to bring back laguna Seca Last edited by marcus; 27 Jan 2005 at 22:10. |

Realistically (I too want to see Indy on the schedule) Michigan would be cool and then lose one of the temporary circuits.

I'd trade the entire schedule for one "500" at Michigan.
How's that for greedy? |

I wouldn't swap Edmonton for anything...
(Save Michigan)... It's gonna be a fantastic race venue. |

I would sacifice Portland for the 13.5 mile old Nurburgring layout if CC ever thinks about racing in Germany ever again.

I'm in love with Michigan (Fontana too) but I'd rather see Champ Car at Elkhart Lake with Toyota Atlantics. Last edited by racefanatic; 27 Jan 2005 at 23:31. |

I'd trade:
San Jose for Laguna Seca South Korea for Road America and if all the Mexican drivers are going to leave the series, might as well trade Fundidoro Park for another oval... either Phoenix or Michigan. I'd love to see a race round the old Nordschleife, but with only 18 cars they would get spread out and it would be a bore to watch.... unless it was all in car cameras Last edited by evo; 28 Jan 2005 at 01:15. |

I wouldn't trade in San Jose or Korea until we see what kind of races they produce.
I wouldn't mind seeing a Superspeedway back on the schedule, ideally either Fontana or Michigan. Road America also needs to be back on the Schedule; it's the best Road Course in America. If I had to lose any two circuits from the current schedule it would be Milwaukee and Long Beach. Only because they produced the most boring races in the last little while. |

Even without a Mexican driver, Fundidora park would be a mistake to drop...IMO

I'd drop Portland and add the chicagoland oval and Michigan, but that's me being selfish based on the towns I live in.
