What is Going on Right Now?
Is it just me or does it seem things are really quiet right now? It feels even deader than the off-season. Does anyone know what is going on right now? Anyone have an idea of what the teams are doing? Anything else you deem appropriate?

As Macdaddy pointed out in another thread, it looks like most teams are testing in Milwaukee this week.

I think its really bad for the Series to have the Races this far apart. It should never be longer then 2 weeks till the next race. I think people lose interest or forget when the next race is on. I know I cant stand these long waits. Maybe they should find a way to keep the races closer together in time so it keeps people talking more about whats going on just an opinion let me know what you guys think.

They should, and I really think that CC needs to focus on having a race or two at around this time for 2006.
I know that it's not as easy as we think, but something has to happen! |

That kind of break should not be at the start of the season, it breaks the beat!

IMO, the hardest thing to do is schedule properly when most of the races require municipal approval. I don`t think it can be solved short term unless they add some an oval tracks and some natural terrain courses.

16 cars are testing at Milwaukee. Biggest thing going in CC for now.

If the schedule has this kind of gap early on next year, ChampCar fans will be rightly despairing. The late start makes it harder to attract teams and sponsors, the gap makes it harder to really keep fan interested, especially when competing with the weekly NASCAR juggernaut. Once the Indy 500 gets into view, that dominates the OW scene for a month - IRL having already had 4 races to ChampCar's 1 exacerbates that problem.

Well at a political point of veiw i don't think it's a bad thing because IMHO KK maybe left this huge gap so teams, drivers and sponsors could still sort any issues out if things wern't going to plan before or after LBGP, but everything went perfect at LB and now with all this testing going on it's giving the up and coming stars more seat time before they go to Mexico.
So i don't see this as being a real big problem if you know what i mean and as far as next year goes the series will be more stronger with a more consistant race calender. |
