Back on the ovals again so should return to the usual form.
Honda should be strong as usual, helped by having manufacturer test at Chicago last week. Panoz cars apparently had some new aero parts and both Rahal and Fernandez were faster than AGR - Danica on pole again and a victory for Vitor? Panther & Penske should be front runners as well. Hopefully will be an exciting race after the dull procession around Sonoma. |

'Defending champion' is a bit of a misnomer this year.

My pick for the win is Hornish. About time for anotehr victory from them although really they have been the team on the short tracks but you can never bet against Sam, I feel he is the number 1 driver out there.

An engaging race - good action from start to finish.
Wheldon now on the cusp of the title. And good to hear Briscoe is okay after a monster crash. |

Got some serious flashbacks to Kenny Brack's wreck at Texas when seeing Briscoe's crash there. Seeing him move his arms etc when they took him to the ambulance was a huge relief.

Briscoe apparently okay...one of the reports was that he was just groggy and bruised! Amazing!!!
Wheldon wins by 0.006s from Castroneves...and will take the title if he starts one of the two remaining races. So congratulations to Dan! |

Briscoe drove over the back of Barron and flipped up into the fence.
Car landed on it's hind, and the back wheels seperated from the engine mount, and the tub seperated and went spinning across the track also. |

Incase you need help with the last photo:
> The flameball on the left is the engine component of Briscoe > The Red Bull mess in the middle is Barron > That blur to the right is Briscoe in the tub > At the bottom is an in awe Matsuura, who has now forgotten that he needs to turn left for the next corner. |

That's a gruesome-looking accident, amazing that he's okay. Congratulations to Dan for a hard-fought and richly-deserved championship, I'm delighted at how well his career has gone in the US.
