MTC organization ltd.
I'm not sure who they are yet, but I add also posted this back in June: http://f3000.flagworld.com/en/news/i...py?artid=42689 http://f3000.flagworld.com/en/news/i...py?artid=42958 So it look like it's a Lola partner, or linked to Lola |

So is this car going to replace the pro series or the Renault V6?

A few months ago, someone proposed re-styling the Lola F3000 car for the European/ Italian F3000 series (or something similar) to give them a more modern and "sculpted" F1 type look.
I think that Lola responded by threatening to sue or at least state publicly that they had nothing to do with it and could not guarantee the integrity of the "new" car. Is this the same deal? |

Ex Alfa Romeo manager Cladio Chierici (who is parttime sports director of Adm) has set up a company to sell the series and found a partner in Kso who need to find a singleseater class to integrate into their Wttc Super Weekend. Peroni wants to get rid of the old cars, because he wants to build an Italian Renault Weekend series using the Clios, the Tatuus Monza Formula Renault1600 singleseaters, the Formula Renault2000 and combine them with the old Tatuus FRV6 cars (which were destined to the PanamV6 series that did not take off). Whether this series makes sense remains to be seen (the monocoques will be in their 8th season!) but it is all commercial and Wttc needs racing series to integrate into their racing weekend. So the Peroni F3000 series is effectively splitting into two now?

And where does the "other" Italian 3000 series fit in?
This is madness! The GP2<<World Series situation is all that's required for the "ladder" above F3, I believe. |

Anyway: Peroni Renault Weekend 2006: FRV6-Fr2000-Fr1600-Clio. 7 double header races in total (6 in Italy and one at Spa) F3000Italy (Coloni-Csai):F3000 Lola B02/50 modified as follows:Zytek electroactuated gearbox/clutch selection managment with paddle shift/clutch and lefthand foot braking. New frontwing endplate as in Champcar. New rearwing. 10races total (5 in Italy and 5 outside Italy). Old B99/50 can race there as well with seperate classification. F3000Masters: Restyled Lola B99/50 as oulined in my previous post integrated in the Wttc Eurosport Racing weekend (8races). The side effect of the 2 F3000 series in Italy in 2005 is that the Italian F3 has between 6 and 8cars only and will probably die in 2006. Sad! |

Well it would have worked if the two warring F3000 series had come to some sort of middle of the road 06 car. There's no need for two 3000 style series, and certainly no need to randomly have a V6 series. All things considered, I do think the mini Italian World Series is a good one, and they should just dump the 3000 classes entirely. If Peroni 3000 is now on the WTCC bill, where is Coloni 3000 doing their non-Italian weekends? DTM?

Peroni controls the Renault championships in Italy and the FRV6 cars being unused and cheap he tries to sell this idea to Renault Italy. I think it is only a project at this stage and Peroni wants to see how much interest it could generate. F3000Masters is a desperate move of the teams having the obsolete B99/50 to create an arena to race with their machinery. I do not think it will take off. And in the end the FRV6 might not be sold to Peroni (Palmer Racing School is interested in them as well) and the modified F3000Masters cars might end up again with Peroni. |

So there's hope that we might not see three series - that's at least something.

How ridiculous, I'd say there's room for one Italian championship, but a WTCC supporting series and two national series is just madness.
As an aside, interesting to see Christian Danner, the first FIA F3000 champion in 1985, is going to race for Sighinolfi in F3000 Italia in the final round at Misano. At least I think the article says he's going to race. |

Same goes for the renault ws-weekends. It shows that a well-promoted & funded serie can easily be a succes, although not necesarily a financial succes. |

Italiaracing.net are reporting that Renault has vetoed the V6 Pro Series (the replacement to the 3000 Pro Series planned for 2006). Good news in my opinion, it would have been as unnecessary as having two F3000 series was this year.
