2005 F1 Grand Prix model cars

Has anyone seen them yet?

I hopefully will get Fernando's 1:18 Renault presentation that is, looks a beauty.

The only model from this season I will be getting Tonio Liuzzi's but as he is not getting a presentation model I have to wait until about december before they are avaliable.

I will probably ask these for Christams as they usually come out for December, although some presentations are out now..

They would be Kimi's car in 1:18 and maybe Button's......

I've got most on pre-order.

Unfortunately, no 1:18 Renaults once again as Mattel continue to hog the license. Same goes for Ferrari.

The conundrum for me this year is that I usually buy Montoya and Kimi's 1:18 cars, but this year they are in the same car which is annoying!

Wish list:
1:43 Sato
1:43 Alonso
1:43 Heidfeld
1:18 JPM
1:18 Kimi
1:18 Villeneuve or Massa, unsure which one.
1:18 Coulthard
1:18 Trulli
1:43 Karthikeyan
1:43 Albers

Will probably change some of the 1:18 wish list to 1:43 for cost and space reasons! Already moving lots of my collection into the loft....

Won't bother with presentation cars, why buy a model of something that has never existed when if you wait a couple of months you can have the proper 2005 racecar?

Not that many really, it's just I have a very small room.

I have about 80 1:43 and 20 1:18, plus the odd 1:12 motorcycle.

They'll come in useful for selling some day!

They brought out a re-release of that last year, so maybe it's affecting the value of the old one. It's the same in every way, except it has tobacco branding.

Most models attract sod all actually, you've just got to hope you have chosen some good ones so profit outweighs loss.

Personally, I just get cars I like. i.e Montoya models.

I don't think selling on ebay is the best thing but buying certainly is, at times it can be amazing with some of the bargins you can pick up.

I don't have a signed model, but I have a signed photographic set.

There were some good ones for sale at Litchlake with rear wing endplates and all that, but I had no money....

I'll go for the Villeneuve 1:18 this year, to be able to continue my Villeneuve collection of 1:18s.

So far (all 1:18)

1995 Minichamps Williams FW17 - Renault test (converted from a DC car)
1996 Onyx Williams FW18 - Renault (slightly damaged)
1997 Minichamps Williams FW19 - Renault British GP
1998 Minichamps Williams FW20 - Mecachrome
1999 Minichamps BAR test car
1999 Minichamps BAR 001 - Supertec
2000 Minichamps BAR 001 - Honda (showcar - when I get a proper 002 I'll ditch the one)
2001 Minichamps BAR 002 - Honda (same as above, keeping it because it's the only 002 I have)
2001 Minichamps BAR 003 - Honda
2003 Minichamps BAR 005 - Honda

I'm lacking:

-1995 Reynard 95I - Ford (extremely expensive)
-2002 BAR 004 - Honda (was it ever made in 1:18?)
-2004 Renault R24 (wasn't made but conversion kits exist - cost a hell of a lot though)
-2004 Sauber C23 testing

My wife has been very good to me concerning JV's minichamps cars, though she has concentrated on 1:43 scale models, rather than 1:18 models. She has purchased for me the 94 and 95 Indy cars (you're right, Jordi, they are both very expensive as they are now quite difficult to get a hold of), and all but two of JV's Formula One cars (which includes this year's race car - but I received for Father's Day the Sauber show car).

I had JV sign the 1997 world championship edition at the Australian Grand Prix this year, and that's now pride of place on the bookshelf (substitute for mantelpiece). Here is a photo of it: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61...0Image0025.jpg

Here are photographs of some of the JV minichamps models I have:

I do have the FW19 and the BAR 002 in 1/43rd...

Recently I bought off Ebay the Renault R24 Chinese GP version (1/18, 166 €, madness, but well, it's done now) and finally got the proper 002. Now I only lack the Indycars, which I might decide to do myself if I can find a suitable model and the C24, which will come out next month I believe. I know there's the showcar running around, but I never liked them. Guess I'm a perfectionist.

By the way, the Renault is Hot Wheels made and despite the fact they've improved notably, they still aren't a match for Minichamps. (Though the front wing from my Minichamps BAR 005 detached the other day - perhaps it was the Nürburgring 2003 version!)

Must say, this is the only thing I miss about my old job. I don't get to see all those lovely models any more! Might even be tempted to by Monty's Mac in 1:43, first time I've felt like that in years!

My model collection is a little stifled for the time being.

The only models I am guaranteed to buy are the two 2005 McLarens in 1:18.

Well I am 16 soon and have around 40 F1 cars 95% of them 1:18 from now days to the '70.
I did abit of ebay in February when I had money to throw away and collected a few CART / CCWS cars from '93 and '94 of 1:43 and are great, cheap and easier to find and a large collection than the 1:18s which fetch for a lot of money.

The Minichamps 1:43's are flying out this year. Already released are the Williams', Renault's, RBR's, Sauber's, Toyota's and BAR's.

Had to cancel some pre-orders such are the rate of them!

Got the Williams and Renault though and they are stunning. Just need my Montoya 1:18 team edition Mac....hope it is the JW livery.
