Remember last year that some rides weren't firmed up until just a few days before Long Beach. I hope this year will be different, but it's still 90 days until the first race so I'm not holding my breath.

Didn't Carl Haas say something during the season that they would like to keep Oriol as long as funding for a third car is secured?

Dale Coyne has a record of announcing drivers days before the season starts - Newman Haas and other top teams don't. It is a little worrying that nothing has been confirmed yet, but hopefully it will be in due course.

I agree with Boots, especially since the schedule and TV dates have been announced already in order to help propect sponsors to make decisions. However something tells me we just saw the tip of the iceberg with the Forsyth Atlantic news. Remember KK said there would be a new series sponsor for Atlantics. There are better things to come. Already I am impressed with what has been done thus far by management and equally impressed with the quality of candidates for drives.

Maybe this season DCR could be even more dramatic, Muzza, and send the drivers out in a plain-wrapper helmet using a psuedonym like "John Winter" used to do, then after the session is over unwrap the helmet to reveal this seaon's drivers!
Now that would be a creative driver introduction! |

No news on the Oriol front up here in Catalonia. The latest I've heard is still from Mexico, when Carl Haas said that they were working on it.

There are rumors that he'll be at PKV... but it looks like they're not going to announce their line-up for another month or so.

Is there anyone in America that hasn't been linked to the PKV seat ?
Hopefully he can still land at NHR. |

You surely can try to raise some backing from Intel... Though Intel used to sponsor RüSPORT...

ChampCar obviously realizes that Servia has a fanbase. And I'd like to think that they'd capitalize on this by keeping him in the series. (Likewise Ranger). Especially considering the fact that he was runner-up in the championship, proving his capabilities and talent.
I'm sure that NHR is working round-the-clock to secure funding. But should that fail, where would he go? PKV already has too many horses in its stable, Forsythe has no sponsorship, and Rocketsports is the only other OWRS-linked alternative. Of course there are ride-buys such as Coyne, but if Servia had the money he'd be locked with NHR. There are so many puzzle pieces left to fall into place, hopefully when the music stops both Oriol and Andrew have rides... |

Would Coyne want Oriol back, though? He did leave in quite a hurry, though honestly he is one of the best drivers to have driven for Dale...
