Indeed, well done Team Canada! I too think it would be best to keep McIntosh in the car, yes Carpentier has more experince of the North American circuits but McIntosh is on a roll at the moment and he knows the team and the car, we have seen what bringing new drivers into the teams this late in the season has done and in general I think its a bad move.

Australia P3 and Brazil P4 , yep driver changes late in the seaon are bad ???
ok exaggerating there , but I dont think its a bad move allthough Sean is doing very well indeed , in fact he has impressed me all season but carpentier is no slouch and may do just as well in the car or at least we would like to think he will. |

Totally agree with the thread title, and the praise for Sean McIntosh. I have been impressed by him since Brands, but yesterday he was outstanding. There was so much going on that I still don't quite understand how he managed to win despite the drive-through penalty, but he did. Respect.

Although GBR did not win; Team Canada has the same team behind it. Except JVA run the Canadian car and Arden the GBR car.
Sean won the race by charging through the pack and even had a "stop and go" |

Indeed, well done Canada.
Quite a statement about the formula that it could throw up a result like that. There's almost too much going on in a race to follow - and it's all relevant to the results! Not that I'm complaining at all. |

Id like to see Gary Paffet or Lewis Hamilton in the car personally.

Well done for the West Coast boy.
The sad part of this all, was the lack of attention that it got here. Guess the Olympic hockey takes up too much of our time. But non the less, we did win, and I hope it's one of many more. |

Don't think the Maritimers consider Montreal to be the East Coast!
But I do agree that Team Canada want a high profile driver for the North American races. Carpentier should do well, but Sean should be on hand in case Patrick is off the pace. |

The deal for Pat to replace Sean was made before Sean won the race.
Pat has always been quick at Laguna Seca and won the last two ChampCar races there. He knows the Mexico track as well. I am not sure what Pat gains by this other than being paid to drive. He is looking for a ride for this season. Sean got little publicity here in Canada but that is nothing new for motorsport. |
