Google video
With all the recent interest in old rallycross footage I thought it would be a good idea to start uploading some of the snippets I have.
Have a look on here http://video.google.com/ and search for rallycross I have started with a clip from Holland ERC last year with Morten Bermingrud etc.. Also an old clip of Anders Carlsson's Quattro S1 doing an old rally sprint event |

Hey there guys, type in Quattro and you will be rewarded with a couple of great clips.
Firtly is a guy obviously doing demo runs in a full spec S1 E2 on public roads which is great with good on board and outside wastegate shots! And second is very very good filmed in 85 of proper drivers and Eklund in an old A2, very good clip |

Try tapping in 'Rally Cross' (put a space in between the two words) and you should come across a pretty good video of some group b machinery in the '89 French rallycross ch'ship.

We definately need some more rallycross stuff.
The quality of the videos is not too hot if viewed on a PC, but download them to a Sony PSP, Ipod Video or other portable device and they are perfect. |

It's an Austrian Hillclimb, most probably Rechberg which counts for the European Championship. The driver might be Bianiello (sp?) I don't think it's an old rallycrosscar as there were only two Delta's ever active, one in France for Saby and later another guy and one for Alamaki/Lahteenmaki (sp?) |

Try the link that WJM puys on the reply to me thread, the Rechburg hillblimb is I think where Herbie Brieneneder ran his Quattro S1 in 88 or 89, the clip is on that Austrian Audi Quattro website I asked for earlier on anotehr thread somethere!
Was trying to find out more info on the car but unfortunately the site is all in Swiss which spose would be GArmanic/French Think the guy that drives it is Italian, the hillclimb scene in Italy is massive and keeps companies like Osella going building hillclimb specials that look like Sports 200 cars! That S4 is mad though, how fast through the gears!! By the way the S4s in rallycross, there were three actually, Paul Chateuax had one the same time as Saby did in France and then bought Bruno's the year after I think! It loked the same anyway. No idea what happened to the Alamaki Lahteenmaki car, neitehr of them could ever get the thing to handle! |

Just found some more Ianello stuff, I tell you what these guys make Shelley and Gurston look like an Autotest!
The file is 8 megs so pretyt large but if you have BB it should just feed through pretty quickly. Wait til the S4 bout half way through and then leave it running and check out the single seater guys later on, they are in full spec F3000 cars and flat out on public roads in France and stuff, totally unreal!! http://www.rsc7.at/cam4.wmv |

Is that the same championship that Dieter Knuttel ran his Avon-sponsored RS200 Evolution in? Have you got any photos of that car? |
