Super Tourers at Brands

On Saturday the LMA Euro Saloons raced on the indy circuit at Brands, there were 4 super tourers entered, in the race two Hondas and a Nissan with a Noble M12 added to spice it up raced for 20 minutes lapping within a couple of tenths of a second and overtaking WITHOUT contact, with the front two Honda Accords finishing apart by only .174 sec.

A credit to club racing, it was a shame it was on a Saturday morning and not shared by many spectators, although our next round at Oulton Park WILL be televised for Motors TV and we expect 7 Super Tourers out for that.

Keep an eye out on the schedules page of amgtv.co.uk - given that the race is in early October I would expect that one to be in late November/early December.

The Oulton Park race is on the 23rd Sept so would expect to see it early Nov.

Better still come along and see us in action.

Hmm... I think it might be a bit longer than that. The programme schedule for Oct 27 has the Anglesey races - Fords and LMA - from August 19/20 - so there will be a few more weeks of other stuff to catch up before we get back round to LMA again (he said with his commentator hat on).

Actually, I'm coming up to the Oulton meeting to do some interviews and so forth.

Avro, I think i will try and make the trip from Newcastle for the racing. Haven't seen the Super Tourers in action for a while, hope that there is a good turn out of cars on the day.

Derek Hale Honda Accord
Simon Blankley Honda Accord

Plus any others I can contact.

Mal is currently entered in the Noble. 11 entries on the list at the moment, of which the only ST so far is John H. I'm sure that others will follow in the next 2.5 weeks!

That a good number. Do you think that there is any chance of Alvin Powell racing his Mondeo and Alex Schooledge racing his Vectra that weekend??

I will speak to them both but Alex had a crash at Brands while testing a couple of weeks back and the car still needs some repairs.

Not sure on Alvin, if it was a double header he would be there for sure, but watch this space.

We will be there in our Nissan. Need to fix a small oil leak this weekend but shee flew at Brands last weekend. We sucked 15 litres of fuel out of it plus we were running on scuffs which were new in April. Given the clouds on Saturday and the threat of rain, we put more fuel than needed to add weight to the rear wheels. It is a formula we tested on the scales and put into practise at Snetterton in April in the pouring rain. We qualified 13th due to the misfire, made 4th by the finish and set fastest lap.

We are on the Fosters circuit I believe, all 1.6 miles of it.

TV.....cool. Can't wait for the next race now my car is running properly.

Will be trying to get to a couple of race meeting next year. From what i heard there could be a couple more ST cars out.

Excellent, would you mind sending the picture for use on my website (full acreditation of course) we were so busy trying to fix a broken gearbox mounting, didn't get much time to get camera out. Last to 3rd felt good though.
