Fujitsu Series Round 4 Oran Park
So who's your money on?? Am hoping a few guys might come on a bit stronger to challenge the likes of Porter and Macrow... I think Scott will strong, and Caruso has definitely shown pace in QLD...

The development series hasnt been to Oran Park in recent years... it will be interesting to see who is who in the zoo...
Mr Macrow should be favourite but Mr Porter should show great qualifying speed... if not race durability. |

I think Macrow will have a bad weekend for some reason and i think Porter will take the round, Caruso should be a not so dark horse, being he won numerous races at Oran Park in the Formula 3.

So how will newcomer to the development series Clayton Pyne fare this weekend?
The pics of his testing at Oran Park, and Wakefield Park on his own website Here show the car with some interesting looking ride heights and suspension settings... Difficult to tell how well the car is going (an ex-Perkins, ex-Verdnik VX unit with some big miles and some heavy crashes on it)... |

My bets on one of the Perkins cars- They are strong after 2nd Practice, and The finished 2nd and 3rd at Queensland.

This chassis looks all right on the twisty parts of the track, but it loses out in top end speed... Just like it did for its previous owners |

Kerri, it makes sense from Youlden's persective, but tough luck to Wayne. His championship goes out the window and his career goes back on the shelf.

Note the drive of Clayton Pyne, first of the VX home. We all wish him well.

Chris Alajajian and Marcus La Delle are two newcomers not short of talent. Newcomers to V8 Supercars that is.

I think that is a throw back to his days driving the STI. Very pleasing to see him do so well in a car so devoid of sponsorship. Then again, Scott Anderson runs a good show. Pleasing also to see Michael Caruso do well. And to think that a couple of years ago, there were people out there who reckoned he could not drive a touring car. Macrow contnues to do well. Interesting to see how the year unfolds for these two.
It was also interesting that the track was slow all weekend. One might have thought the reasonably mild weather would have been good, but it was not to be. Last edited by Raceonly; 13 Aug 2006 at 11:07. |

It was really good to see some of the Privateer guys get up there and feature prominently in the results against much better funded operations.
The likes of Brett Hobson, The Chris and especially Clayton Pyne were all noteworthy performances - you have to remember in Pyne's case he hasn't driven anything in anger in over 18 mths since he stepped out of Formula Ford and running on a budget that is barely a shoestring. |

Another one is Shannon O'Brien. Weekend "compromised" by backing it into the wall at the final turn on his final run in qualifying. Up until then he was looking quite speedy - the lap where he binned it was quicker than anyone else up to that point on the track.

Did anyone see the spray Grant Denyer gave to the officials during an interview, after his drive though penalty in race 3? Did he get a fine or something? You could'nt blame him for going off his block!
