Champcar at Bathurst

So I open up the latest issue of Motor Racing Australia and find a ad for the easter sunday bathurst festival sponsored by WPS. I note a "champcar demonstration" as part of the activities. Last year this was derailed due to a lack of engine. Is it going to happen this year? I would imagine they will use the reynard they have in Australia.

Was shattered when it was pulled last year, well shattered was a bit far but you know was quite excited then left without.

Its on the bill for the event in 3 weeks and I will be there again, hoping, praying for it to run.

Would imagine it would be the Lola now considering they have a them left over.

There is one run scheduled at noon on Saturday in the middle of the lunch break.I,m not holding my breath waiting for the car to show but if it isn't I hope the organisers have the decency to advise the public unlike last year.

Yes that was criminal what they did last year. What was worse was the "but dont you worry we have something lined up that is even better". Ie it wasn't

And i suppose it could only be a 'spirited demonstration"

IMHO, any full speed attempt in Conrod Straight might lead to the car "lifting off'.

Bevan Gibson's car did that

In the build up to last years event there was talk of them going for the unofficial lap record.

I take it, it will be Max Wilson behind the wheel again

Given that the lap record is held by a V8soopcar I don't think they would have to try that hard really.
