Morris buys Longhurst franchise
Paul Morris has bought the L1 Longhurst franchise. He'll run the Sirromet car under the L1, and will campaign a second Commodore under the existing L2 at selected rounds. Fabian Coluthard and Alan Gurr will share driving duties.
Lots in that announcement: - The old Team Dynamik outfit, and Longhurst's racing ambitious for 2006, have been killed off. - What of Simon Wills and Max Wilson's plans for 06? - Good pick-up for Fabian, after losing out to Andrew Jones for the Tasman seat. - The L1 DOESN'T guarantee Morris a start everywhere, but the L2 does. So there'll be some swapping and changing no doubt. There's a press release floating around... |

[QUOTE=Jason Whittaker]Paul Morris has bought the L1 Longhurst franchise.
- Good pick-up for Fabian, after losing out to Andrew Jones for the Tasman seat. Im sure Fabian will be very pleased with his new Venture for next year, i dont think he was even asked to test with Tasman, very strange if you ask me But good on him its the break he needs. |

If Morris uses the L1 franchise, does he mean he would race around with #44 plastered on the car?

actually its the top 30. V8SCA then give two wildcard drives to one of the three (or four maybe) remaining cars. But you would think they would give it to a level one team, particular with that level one team having a top 10 contender in it and not just a spot filler |

no he will be able to select another number if he wants to, he may in fact continue to use 67 and give the L2 car a different number |

Life would be so easy if V8SA or Tega gobbled up the #75 and #45 franchises. There would be no wildcard BS, no need for L1 &2s, and we could get on with the racing.....

Yes MS.
No PMM Chassis is ever built or prepared as a #2 priority car..... TKR will be as strong, if not stronger with this weeks announcement. |

thats not very nice. bit of a personall attack isnt it, playing the man instead of the post. You reminded us of how you brought this to our attention, i just reminded you of how you said on the weekend that Nathan Pretty will be driving for Tasman. i bring the other side of the argument to the doomsday merchants, its part of quality debate |

Am I missing something here, if PMM now owns a Level 1 franchise doesn’t that allow him to field two cars? If so why is he maintaining the Level 2 franchise?
