Hopefully I'll be there as a spectator.
Do you think the TV coverage has encouraged more drivers out? It will be good to see so many Sierra & Escort Cosworths in one race... |

I'd be surprised if it hasn't, but that doesn't then explain not outstanding (at the date of the Finals) grids in the Fiestas and XRs. Although it is nice that there is an extra race for the Fords, I think the real reason is that there is no longer one for TVRs... I'm not sure on the final numbers for Fords, but it is a shame that there will be two less than full grids than one bulging one, too.

I'll be there and I'm sure it IS because of the tv coverage. The same round last year had a good grid (which TimWatson won in his Mondeo from the back of the grid) but not brilliant. Trouble is I'd like to be snapping at about 4 places at once during the race! ...are you talking us through the races Ian on the day???

If I am, nobody has told me! I'll probably be lending a hand with FF1600 as per, but otherwise I suspect it will be Andrew Wilkins. I'm confining myself to 750MC events as things stand (and not as many of those as I previously thought...)

Don't forget the usual "Watch the lights" as they rack up on the grid... followed by complete tirade of bull.... through the race because as usual, the commentators sheets are dull boring works of the mindless motorheads on the track.
If I know that ol' Sprozza's doing the talking, I'll throw all sorts of rubbish on the sheet, like: "Won the 1993 Botswanan Touring Car Championship driving a Series 1 Landrover Safari in Team Daktari colours", and other complete drivel. It makes the commentary almost interesting when the race becomes processional! Now, let me concoct something for my next outing... 1978 Formula Ransomes champion, using a modified Marquis with a 5hp Briggs & Stratton. As for no Puma - where's Mr Grimes? Hopefully Tim's feeling better now, and the Mondeo is on form.. expect another Watson lights to flag! Rob. |

Steve, thats a great shame. At the Ford Saloon awards night (not many northerners there sadly...not even the Lancs mob!) though reading between the lines I sussed that Mungo hadn't been out at the end of last year and so thought something was up. Hopefully we'll see you around though I can't do all the rounds myself now. Have to report on Mini racing, Britcar & SCSA (ASCAR) so not much room left (and shift work in between!!). Steve, Iv'e just remembered I havn't sent Richard Casey pictures of a Mini he wanted. Let him know I'll be onto it this coming week if you could...ooops!!!!

We couldn't make the awards dinner Baz, 'cos of the little not being well enough to leave with sitters.
By the way, all the Ford Championship cars will will be carrying Alder Hey logos this year in recognition of the hospital - We're hoping we'll be able to raise a few quid during the year for the cardiac unit where Cait has been a (frequent !!) patient... |

I just hate it when I get in the way of the Fiestas so I'm ditching the very expensive, carbon fibre WRC mirrors for a set of standard ones for this season - Just so I know when to move over.....
Might also mean that I spend less time trying to see anything in the poxxy things and noticing the ......Ahem, cough, cough Last edited by goforit500; 21 Mar 2005 at 13:31. |

Ok guys, is this a BRSCC problem or just a general problem. Last year the Fiat's had usually a full grid...now half a dozen or so, and now the Star of Midlands...8 cars...has the bubble now burst...is it entry fees cost or something else? No cars around, people not bothering, or taking the misses out instead...its all all looking pretty gloomy for this year at the moment. How were the grids at the last 750 meeting?-bet they were pretty good!

750 entries pretty good. I was going to go on Easter Monday, but may give it a miss if the level of support is so low.
Club racing really needs to be addressed if this is anything to go by. I am as keen as they come for Mallory attendance( 31 years), but i draw the line at 4 and 8 car races. |

Its handy the BRSCC putting all that info on the site, they just need to advertise it alittle more to us non racers. |

Hey I'm a 'racer' and I didn't know that info was on the web site! It'd be nicer if the info was properly up to date and not just a copy of the final instructions (which arn't very final!).

I only found them by chance, but glad I did. For spectators is a good guide to deciding if it's actually worth making the effort to drive to a meeting or not.
As you say the final instructions aren't always final. In this instance the timetable is different from the one in the final instructions - an extra Ford Sallon race and the TVR race dropped. |
