Classic Thunder/Boss Fords go from strength to strength.

After a fantastic inaugeral season since the merge the revamped CTCRC Classic Thunder/Boss series is shaping up to be seriously good for 2010. The rules have been slightly tweaked so that engine swaps in CT are now allowed from different marques a revival of the old Special Saloons if you like. Apart from great competitors like Joss Roncetti in his super quick Sunbeam Talbot Lotus we have Ford V8 Seirras and Capris, Cossie engined Mk1 and 2 Escorts, Duratec engined KA, Aussie Ford Falcon V8 Tourer, Escort Cossies, BMW M3's and 6's, Stacy Vickers is even planning a few excursions in a revamped slick shod RX7 so this championship (which I believe it is now) is going from strength to strength. (Did I hear a nasty rumour the Boss side was collapsing? What a load of nonsence!!!)

We are racing at all the good circuits up and down the country and you could do worse than to join in or come and watch.

Contary to rumours circulating at Autosport International, the Blue Oval Saloon Series(BOSS) is alive and well. With the introduction of a 4WD class for 2010 the numbers are already looking good for the year with some familiar faces looking to join the fray. Should be an interisting season.

I would be interested to know where those rumours started. BOSS is going great guns. AHM Should have a Focus going in it next season.

Re the demise of boss,is this to do with the "rumour" that a new ford championship for 1600 cc car and vans will appear in 2011,the source is on the web, politics and pathetic spring to mind, some people need to grow up. I think boss can get a full grid next season, guys dont replace one regime with similar one.

The demise of of BOSS is highly unlikely imho. Under the guidance of the CTCRC and with a BOSS rep on the committee I expect it to go from strength to strength, especially with the 4WD class back in. Already heard rumours of Graham Wait, Paul Neville, etc coming in along with new cars for classes 2 & 3. Possibility of over subscribed grids and split CT/BOSS races at some rounds I reckon.

Ford van racing, blimey thats novel, can just see a few Trannies racing round being chased by some Connects (the mind boggles) could be entertaining though thats for sure!

Be plenty of space for ads thats for sure! Ho come though years agoo scruts made a guy take graphics off the rear window of a four dour Lancer but they can allow a van to race which surely must have blind spots, dont get that one sorry as I often glance over my shoulder during a race.

We are not doing Mallory this season, we were there last year. Unfortunately because of the economic downturn and the price of fuel etc. by a consensus of opinion by the membership it was decided to have more double headers thus visiting less venues. For the record I can understand this but don't happen to support it as for me half the fun is visiting different places 12 times a year not 8 but there you go democracy ruled and if its what the majority wanted I have to go along with it unfortunately it means some venues are not visited. The good news is we are at Cadwell this year after a long period not visiting this fine and exciting circuit and we also have a club run sprint at Goodwood which promises to be something a bit different and brings the total of meetings up to 9. Here is the calendar on this link http://www.classictouringcars.com/pages/dates.asp
