Gentlemen Drivers merger with World Sportscars Masters

I will be interested to see what extra benefit this will bring to the driver. The good news is that WSM is well run have good hospitality and get good meetings. Carol's series have been going from strength to strength over the last few years - lets hope that WSM have the same x factor!

From Carol Spagg, who has announced that from next year, the GD series is being taken over by Masters. Apparently she and Verity will still be involved on the admin side for the time being.........

I doubt that entry fees will reduce.

Carol's series is free to enter his costs £500 so Peter you are quite right! I guess this puts Carol's plans to start a tin top series on ice...

I supplied her with some period shots to promote the "tin tops" only last week so maybe that going ahead under Rons banner as well ????

Julius watch out!! It will be interesting to see how this will work given that GD and Top Hat have historically been at the same meetings...
Having said that WSM were at several european meetings (Zolder, Nurburgring etc) that the others were not. I think on balance we should get enough benefits to outweigh the entry fee (but I do hope that Carol and Verity still come along as they do have a knack of getting a party going!)

I was under the impression CS was having a class for FiA spec saloons as well ?

I'll be picking and choosing my races as and when I can afford next year, and I think Top Hat has the lead at present, but I'm always interested in any interesting alternatives. Especially if we get FiA spec races at the better UK circuits

If Top Hat and CS are both FIA and in some cases at the same meeting I am not sure what will happen! Having said that this happens at the moment with the FIA Championship and Top Hat so I guess worst case they merge the grid - Clth Cap and Gentlemen Drivers have the same cross over so it could/should mean more racing at meetings which is all welcome!

true, but Top Hat and Fia attract few crossovers, primarily due to budget, but also due to spec ! likewise HRSR to Top Hat and before that HRSR to the CTCRC/CSCC

I understand from a third party that Carol will Continue with her magazine along with the new tin top saloons up to 2 litre.

It'll be hard to merge a grid when the GD races are mostly over subscribed on their own ??

looking at their email they sent out this afternoon it seems that they are going to run the 4 series seperately as it is currently. I presume that wooould mean that they will fold the pre 66 class in WSM and redirect those cars to SRS and have the Gp 4 grid post 66.
