A lot of people seem to be really critising the new btc rules. I'm personally glad that the cars are going to much less hi-tech, and more focused on quality racing. I know loads of people don't like the back to basics policy, but to be frank, recent seasons have been quite dull in comparision to the early 90s when it was actually possible to pass the vechile infront, without having a massive loss of aero dynamic effect.
i agree with reid who sez the changes are for the better. The class shouldn't be about speed, it should be about close racing, packed grids with lots of action. please feel free to disagree, but if it's speed you want, watch formula one with cars going around in circles not within a mile of each other. |

well said every 1 wants to see panel bashing and crashes(as long as the drivers are o.k afterwards),and i rekon this years championship will provide just that. Last edited by knowlesy59; 5 Apr 2001 at 18:19. |

Yeah, but surely we can have both. Why can't we have high speed panel bashing? just increase the engine size to 2.5?

Because 2.0 litres is recognised as one of the biggest market sector. More manufacturers have suitable 2.0 litre models than 2.5 litres.
